I cannot stress enough how badly anyone reading this needs to go no matter how far the drive. We stumbled across this on our way to a hike and decided to try it on our way home.
First of all the front has a huge painted Jamaican flag on it that just looks amazing, then as you get closer you can hear some extremely nice music that was not too loud or obnoxious in any way playing on a very nice sounding speaker outside (I'm into my speakers too)
Next you go in and the ambiance is lovely, banana leaf placemats, lovely set tables, and was immediately pleasantly greeted by the owner and chef!
I ordered 6 Jamaican patties (3 chicken, 2 spicy, and 1 mild) because we showed up later in the day, but I would have gotten more, and I wish now that I could have. These were by far the best Jamaican patties I've ever had in my life and I've had homemade, authentic Jamaican patties before. The dough is clearly hand made and was nicely moist, the meat inside was spiced amazingly and tasted unbelievable. I nearly turned around to buy out the vegetarian patties! We ended up eating all but one on the car ride home as it seemed a shame to even try to reheat them.
I also ordered the jerk chicken meal, lamb roti, and oxtail roti which I'm currently enjoying as I write this.
The jerk chicken was very tender and juicy, flavor was lovely and we haven't even tried it yet with the gravy and hot sauce mix that's on the side! Not spicy at all for anyone worried.
The lamb roti is huge and packed full of meat! Very reasonably priced especially for the quality, flavour, and tenderness of the meat! All roti wraps are made by hand just after you order it!
Next I'll be trying the oxtail roti which smells amazing! No doubt it will be good too!
And we enjoyed the coleslaw that came with it too!
We will definitely be coming back and spreading the word.
Thanks to everyone who had a part in making our meal and the pleasantness from our visit!
TL:DR - Go and eat there everything is amazing and you more than get your...
Read moreAVOID THIS RESTAURANT at all costs! THERE ARE BETTER RESTAURANTS IN TOWN!! I was initially excited to go with my family and friends to an alleged Jamaican restaurant, however, that discipated when I was trying to order a meal with the owner. She was irritated with us while we were asking questions about the menu. She was curt with us and said she had to finish with another order. She did not say sorry or ask to be given a few minutes to do that. She was rude and curt with her answers to us. Also we did not know what kind of rice was served with the pineapple chicken and when we asked for the rice to be changed on one order before the meal was ever made, she made a angry face at me. This OWNER also made a rude comment about a child that eating in her restaurant and he was crying out on the patio. She said that child needs to shut up, then said something is wrong with that child. She is a owner she should keep her comments to herself. She should have sked the family if everything is ok. She also yelled and screamed at the kids under 10 years old, told them they were Disrespectful and told them to stop eating the pizza they were eating. There were 13 of us and the 3 kids wanted to eat pizza. She could have came to us nicely and asked us not to bring in the pizza, but instead she yelled loudly at the kids. The food is terrible and there is no seasoning on the chicken and the chicken was dry and the portion size was really small. We wasted 200.00 in this awful spot! She did not treat us as a paying customer in her establishment! AVOID it AT ALL COST! Do not go! She is soooooo Rude and has no customer...
Read moreThe service with my last two experiences there was dissapointing. My party of 3 went to have dinner there a few weeks ago. My dad was really looking forward to the curried goat. He hadn't had a chance to have it again for the last year. We began to order at the counter and my 88 year old dad was saddened that he couldn't have the dish he had been looking forward to because he was bluntly told there was none left. We were suddenly ignored when a young party of 4 walked in. My dad had managed to ask if there will be some curried goat the next day, prior to being ignored. Coral said, yes there would be. Next day, I phoned at 4:45pm to place our dinner order for pick up. It included ONE curried goat. Order taken and pick up time set. We drove into town to pick up our dinners and they did not exist. There was no curried goat left!!! I was told that they tried calling me after they took the order and agreed with the pick up time. I checked activity on my phone. There was NO attempt at a phone call from the restaurant! I had plans to take my husband there for his birthday last week. I immediately changed...
