Shawarma Depot — Restaurant in South Dundas

We have eaten here a few times, it's not awful food, just very sloppy when done. Last week we ordered pick up, I asked for no sauces on it because they taste funny to me, I'm use to a different chain and I'm just not thrilled about them. My husband went and picked it up, there was so much sauce on the food you could barely see threw it! 🤮 When I called the owner said to drive back and they would replace it, by this point I had chemical in my hair to take black dye out and this was not happening my husband had gone to work. I told them I could not return it. He stated that he would leave a credit for me and hung up! Didn't take any information and I know for a fact my phone number is blocked and they didn't ask for one when I placed the pick up order! 45 mins later I get the stuff out of my hair and took the food back for a refund that I had to argue for! How arrogant! You have a restaurant in a small town and do that! You won't be in business long at that rate! We will not be returning and have shared our experience with...

We were weary and tired at the tail end of a road trip from the east coast. We were desperate for fresh, real food and seeing the highway sign for McDonald’s and shawarma depot we knew we had to go straight to the Depot. It did not disappoint!! We both had the chicken on the rocks, with different toppings. The garlic sauce (Toum) is HANDS DOWN the best I’ve ever tasted!! The hummus was so yummy too and the pickles and turnip were also very delish!! The chicken was lovely and no grisly bits!! This will be a definite pit stop in our travels through from now on!! Saw the halal sign on my drive back to Toronto and had to stop in and I’m so glad I did.

I bought the garlic potatoes, a chicken shawarma, and a donair and it was so worth it. The owner tells me he’s a planning to expand into some other foods too so I’ll be looking forward to that too. Take the small drive off the highway to this unassuming shawarma spot in a strip mall and you will be satisfied and satiated all the way home by supporting this small business.
