Robinson's Fresh — Restaurant in South Huron

Ordered lunch from polite waitress who informed French fries were fresh similar to a chip wagon. I placed an order for a turkey club on multigrain with FF. When food was served it was served “toasted-burnt black”. Inedible! I hadn’t ordered toasted never mind burnt. When I asked a different server after I called her over, would you eat this I was told no she wouldn’t. I asked for some of the fries to be left so I could at least eat a little with my company. The fries were frozen and had an additive or seasoning that irritated my tongue-why I had asked in the first place what type the fries were! My tongue began to hurt and swell immediately. I was trying to avoid my food sensitivity and would have had a salad if told the truth. Replacement sandwich arrived toasted like stale bread. No actual toasting. I would have preferred plain. No offer for any food I could or wanted to eat. I left and went home to eat as I was hungry. Waitress friendly, not totally informed, but was able to say roast Turkey wasn’t processed meat. Again, no checking back to see if my meal was acceptable never mind good. No refill water. Malt vinegar was handed over the counter after being forgotten, and although plenty of place to sit we were sat right in front of the kitchen. Very disappointed and expensive for leaving hungry plus a WASTE of my TIME. No manager or supervisor attempted to make my lunch correct or that I had something to eat-why I went there in the first place. Came here for lunch with a coworker and service was good, food was good even though portions were a little small. Decided to bring my husband here but for breakfast and was completely disappointed. A gentlemen came in for a take out order and the chef who was an older lady openly said she doesn’t think to check the take out orders so unless someone tells her she won’t. He had to wait for his food. Coffee tasted burnt. Water glasses were dirty. My husbands classic Benny was wet and runny with an English muffin that you couldn’t call toasted. My breakfast was just a standard breakfast nothing special.

It was a completely different atmosphere than my lunch experience and honestly ruined it for me.

All our coworks love this place and we decided to give it a try. We ordered 2 meals for lunch and called ahead. When we went to pick it up one of the meals was missing and they said the order didn't make it to the kitchen. We had to wait an extra 15 minutes for the second meal, while the one that was made sat and got cold. The pulled pork sandwich, while it had good flavour, was severely lacking in the pulled pork department with 1/3 of the sandwich just bread and cheese. The toasted western we ordered and had to wait on was not at all appetizing, only had egg on half the sandwich and had tomatoes on it for some reason. A very unfortunate first impression, and we will likely not be back. The gravy was good tho, which was a nice way to warm up...
