I’m not sure if they intentionally lie to their customers, but I had an experience that wasted my time while I was waiting for my order, especially since I had plans after eating. I placed an order on Uber Eats and waited for more than an hour, during which the delivery time kept getting delayed three times. The app still showed “preparing order,” so I eventually called the restaurant to check if my order was even ready.
When I called, they told me they were waiting for a driver to be assigned before starting to prepare my order. However, if that were true, the app should have displayed “waiting for a driver to pick up your order” instead. Having worked at a restaurant for a long time, I know that if they had marked my order as ready and were just waiting for a driver, the customer’s app wouldn’t still say “preparing your order.”
What’s even more frustrating is that my order got picked up as soon as I hung up the call with them. To make matters worse, I had asked them to cancel my order during the call because I suspected they hadn’t even tapped “order ready” on their Uber Eats tablet. However, they insisted that I could only cancel it through the Uber app. I know for a fact they could have canceled it on their end.

Read moreHi I purchased a large coffee from A&W at 49 st & 101 Ave Edmonton It was supposed to be light cream and 1 sugar. However I found excessive cream from what I wanted. I was driving on 50 st so thought to stop another A&W location to give them feedback and if possible then get the right product. But the Associat at 6104 50st Edmonton gave me a surprising revert. He said “ We can not do anything, that is not our A&W.” I tried to reiterate and tell him that it’s a same company, he again said “sorry we are not allowed” I told him it’s not a big deal for me I can drink this one but I hoped A&W could have better customer service.
It’s unexpected from a big restaurant chain.
I would seek a reply on your company policy. Is that associate right? If one restaurant serves inaccurate order then another close by restaurant can not fix.

Not a friendly word from the person in the window. Just a stick jammed at me and the price. Not very welcoming. Window closed. No idea how long it would be. I recieved my food within a couple of minutes. There you go, no come back soon, have a good day, nice to see you, nada. No big deal.
When I got home, not only no cheese, no lettuce unless it was disguised by the sauces, no tomato. Tasty enough.
The atmosphere was great. A gloomy day but the spring air was kind and my window was down. Nothing to do with the Dub though.
Overall, a real lunch bag let down on their part.
