Disappointing Experience â Poor Service and Lack of Hospitality
We had a very disappointing experience at Atravida Restaurant. Despite arriving a full hour before closing, we were told the chef could not accommodate any more guests due to two large tables and limited food. While we understood the kitchen was under pressure, the tone from the staffâparticularly our initial serverâwas curt and dismissive. We were even met with resistance when asking for a simple cocktail.
The on-site manager informed us that food is not guaranteed without a reservation, which is surprising for a restaurant located within a major inn on a tourist-driven island. Thankfully, one bright spot was Autumn, a different server who kindly offered to get us chicken strips and fries after overhearing our situation. She treated us with care and professionalismâsomething the earlier experience lacked entirely.
We left feeling that tourists are more of a burden than a welcome presence. For a destination that relies heavily on tourism, we expected better hospitality and a more accommodating attitude...
Read moreFirst time going was Prime Rib Sunday. You have a choice of a couple mains, a small salad and dessert for $34. We didnât have any expectations but will say that when we asked for our prime rib to be rare it was actually rare which isnât always the case. The entire main was large, filling and actually quite good. It came with mashed potatoes and gravy and Yorkshire pudding as well as some side vegetables all of which were really good and not bland or just filler food. The dessert that came with the meal unfortunately was not the best, a type of peach cake. I would skip their desserts personally. The bread and olive plate could have also been a pass. I would give this place a five if the dessert had been up to par with the main meal and it would have been nice if the bread appetizer had anything going for it. Otherwise if we lived on the island, going just for the prime rib on Sundays would likely be worth it....
Read moreWent here for Prime rib dinner on Sunday. The waiter did not tell us the specials, the soup or the fish of the day and she seemed very disinterested in serving us. Said she had been away for a month so didn't know what was going on. We all ordered the prime rib but when I asked what the soup was she said it was lobster bisque. I said no due to being allergic to dairy. I asked then to switch my mashed potatoes to soba noodles but she said she had to ask the kitchen first. When she came back she told me that the gravy and the mashed potatoes had dairy so I shouldn't order it. đ© Ordered the fish, it was good but nothing special. My family had the prime rib and they said it was good. They forgot the...
