The setting is amazing, right at a BC Ferries terminal in the beautiful Southern Gulf Islands. It is hard to imagine a tastier way to spend the wait for a ferry than having freshly-made, interesting, diverse, and locally-sourced food made in front of your eyes at a food truck that has been here for 29 years. Just delightful! There are picnic tables right outside, and if the weather is a bit off, just walk along the ramo to the ferry to the waiting...

Max and Moritz is a Galiano institution; been here 29 years, and thank goodness some things never change. We always choose to have breakfast here over BC Ferries and support small local businesses. The "Pita The Great" breakfast sandwich with their special hot sauce is delicious and a great value. Luciana is wonderful and friendly. A things to note: it's cash or e-transfer only. Also be patient, as it's a small operation and gets busy...

A very good place to grab some food before taking the ferry. This little food truck features indonesian and german sausage and gelato, which I think is a very interesting combination. I ordered the Nasi Goreng and the taste is good. However the rice is a bit too soft and it doesn't include the fried egg which I think is mandatory (may be I missed adding it as a topping?). And don't forget to add some homemade chili oil...
