We were there a month ago. 2 adults and 2 fussy kids. I was craving good Indian food while at the cottage and was not let down. I read alot of reviews before and I think some are older. Bc they seem to have made changes in response. I ordered the shrimp which didn't get a good review for the small shrimp. These were plump and plentiful. The butter chicken is our kids favourite and not only did it stand up to their favourite indian restaurant in Toronto but they got a chuckle about the description in the menu. We ordered the dinner for 4 and it was a good sized meal for 4 people. Maybe for 4 hungry adults, you may need to add an additional appetizer. The naan was on the chewy side which was super warm and tasty. Just a different style from the fluffy style you may see in others. The gulab jamun that comes w the set meal was amazing. My only down side was the atmosphere. I'm allergic to perfume and there was a VERY VERY VERY strong mens cologne wafting through the ventilation. It was either the cook or they were trying to cover the food smell. Which I don't think they should do. I want to smell the goodness as soon as I walk in. It smelled sterile except for the cologne. I had to hold mu napkin over my nose until our food arrived. It was very spacey w very few tables. So it felt cavernous and not welcoming. I would maybe carry out next time. And I will be back. The service was great. The owner who served us was attentive without hovering.

The worst Indian food I have ever had. The butter chicken is very very very sweet. Inedible. Also the pieces of chicken are just massacred tiny bits thrown into this honey sweet sauce. The paneer Tikka Masala is a 2/10. Butter nan is flat, undercooked, and tastes like flower. The samosa is good. I’m incredibly disappointed. How the food could be this level of bad is beyond me. How they have a good score on reviews can only be explained by them somehow getting rid of bad reviews. The food is that bad. Do not waste your money here.

In the words of that food network show... You've got to eat here! We just finished an incredibly delicious meal from Elm Desi!! Every single bite was amazing, highlights include the samosas, the Chennai chicken and the Palak paneer! But honestly it was all good, you won't go wrong! Needless to say we will be repeat and frequent customers. Thanks Elm Desi!!

I was there today & ordered 6 item from there menu $80.80 that’s with 13% tax

The price’s are not the same on your bill it’s $1 more on every item & your not told they are more 😱 when ordering I eat Indain food more then any take out from all over near & far.

I will never go back to this place & I’ll tell you why .

I did go back & ask why I was charge more & got the different $ back she said

it’s an old menu🥴

The portions are very small for the price $$ you pay

Veg Pakora was over cooked it was like they were burnt I have never had them like that before Menu $8.45 bill $9.45

Palak paneer was so watered down & runny it’s like soup it came with rice on the side it was not good at all from what I had from others place it’s rich & thicker Menu $$14.95 bill $15.95.

Butter Chicken was watery & a few pieces of chicken not worth the price for this at all it come with rice on the side Menu $16.95 bill $15.95.

Chana Masala was the worst I have ever had it was like soup with chickpeas the flavour was not good at all came with rice menu $12.95 bill $13.95 .

Fish pakora was not crispy or the yellow I’m use to having it was red & wet so disappointing portion Menu $10.45 bill $11.45.

Butter Naan was the smallest I have ever seen $3.75 I paid but on menu was $2.50 it was the size of a sliced bread .

I’m so disappointed not for the $ but for the food it’s self was not...

Ordered take-out and have mixed reviews.

Pros - the food was super flavourful and the portion sizes are good. The spice level was perfect for mine and my husband's palate.

Cons - the butter chicken didn't taste at all like the other times we have ordered it from Elm Desi. Previously, it was surprisingly sweet, which we really liked. This time, it wasn't sweet at all. Not that it was bad, it was just inconsistent with previous times.

*The bill was more than anticipated. The website and a poster in the front window advertise that curries were BOGO50% on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We ordered on a Wednesday but we were charged full price. When I politely contested, the staff person said that the offer was discontinued and that was the end of the...
