The Country Diner — Restaurant in Springwater

I love this quaint little spot in the heart of the very lovely town of Elmvale ON.We were able to have a very special 70th Birthday party for my sister who depends on a wheelchair, so happy that they are accessible. Todd has a back dining area that is private and cozy for get togethers, so I was very excited that after a few years of covid that we were able to celebrate my beautiful sister ,and to have access with herwheelchair.We had a party of ten and it was nice to be able to catch up with each other and enjoy some delicious choices from the menu. Food was so good and fresh and lots of it. Service was outstanding and we were sure well taken care of.. Todd made us feel very welcomed.We got a delicious home made pie to take out for some dear friends and they loved it. The food was great. Home cooking. Great portions for the price. The service was fast and friendly. The reason for the 4* rating were cleanliness issues I had. The table we sat at, to the right of the cash register, was right beside all the cleaning supplies. My friend literally had a mop bucket and dirty rags beside her. The servers touched the rim of the glass when placing drinks in front of us. That is a great way to spread germs. Especially since they kept checking their cell phones while behind the register, then serving customers. And the cutlery was wrapped in cheap, small napkins. The napkins were so small they didnt cover the whole cutlery, meaning the ends I put in my mouth touched the table while we waited for food. Even though tables are wiped, I have worked in restaurants before- these rags are used all day and spread more germs than clean, especially when we saw the rags just kept on the counter and not in a bucket of cleaning solution. Normally we don't give bad reviews,because we understand it is not easy to run a business.However,I have to mention we had a pretty bad experience in this restaurant.The service was OK. Besides that,the environment and food there were really disappointing.We waited for our food around 15-20 minutes,during that time, many flies here and there,and you have to keep patting yourself to keep the flies away, ALL THE TIME.And,there was no AC in the restaurant,really hot and humid.When the food was finally served,the burger was not served with tomato,and meat was just from frozen beef patty,and the relish and onion were all spilled out of sides.What's worse,the fries of the burger were all overcooked.Really disappointing,won't...
