Wow!!! I usually don't care waiting a little longer but... 2 different drivers, and almost 1 hour and 1/2 for a very cold pizza and a salad, from this restaurant, which is 5 minutes of driving from our place. The 3 stars is for the taste, but I had to reheat the whole thing. Guys, really, I understand that it is a Friday night, but this should have been planned better maybe? At least, call the customer to inform them about the situation or maybe offer a discount or something to compensate? Even an appology would have shown a minimum of respect on your end at least. Restaurants should stop treating delivery orders like they are such an inconvenience and neglecting the quality of service for these orders. (Or offer your own delivery service if it's financially better on your end?) I understand that an online order doesn't bring the same value to your business, as I have been working in the food and customer service industry for 25 years, but there is actual good reasons why some people can't make it in person sometimes (No access to vehicle, disabilities, injury, etc...) It still affects your image anyway in the 1st place, and you still get money from these orders too! (We pay so much extra money to get it delivered.) We used to LOVE Buco, but I'll have to admit that the past few times we ate there in person or that we ordered online were really disappointing. Even the staff didn't looked happy. I'm also not the only person mentioning this, I've heard it from quite a few people. I hope that you are sincerely receptive to people's experience when they take the time to offer constructive feedback, and work on improving what's wrong without treating your staff any different. (Unfortunately, some...
Read moreWe three ate an early Sat. night supper. We reserved and the place was full at 6 pm. Decor and atmosphere are "modern trendy" with both standard and bar stool seating and an open bar and kitchen. When full of diners the noise level was "moderate to moderate +". There is a small outdoor patio, but we ate inside. Seating and initial service was quick. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We ordered three cocktails which came quickly and were well presented. To start we ordered 6 "Assagini" (little tastes) including prosciutto-wrapped figs, beef short rib croquette, Italian sausage, veal meatball, arancini (risotto balls), and pancetta bruschette. All were excellent. FYI the sausage was spicy. Each is designed as a single serving but they're good-sized. We finished, but could have done with only 3 or 4. Alone, they'd make a good light meal.
For mains we had a mushroom ravioli, large veal cannelloni, and a dolce piccante pizza, plus one house wine. All were excellent and good sized, and were hot and well plated and served. The pizza was fairly spicy. The two cannelloni were home rolled in a white cheese/cream sauce (after the appies the diner really needed only one cannelloni!). The mushroom ravioli was great. We had left-overs which were well boxed. We asked for a bag and got a nice small "Buco" shopping bag to carry home.
Dinner, drinks and tip cost $150. If we had only had the drinks and Assagini the price would have been half. We highly recommend Buco for either a very nice dinner evening, or for a lighter...
Read moreWe went to visit Saint Albert and decided to try a restaurant in the area... The Italian restaurant is located in a new, posh, and modern strip mall surrounded by upscale stores and coffee places. The decor is modern, well lit, and bright. It was five when we got there so it was not busy. Howeverx we were told by the host thst it will get busier around past six. We shared antipasto, my partner ordered pizza and I went for tortellini soup and câprese salad. It took about 10 to 15 mins for the food to arrive. The antipasto was good. It came with bread, chesex and cold meats. It was plentiful for the two of us to share. My partner had the carni pizza. He enjoyed it very much. It was too large to finish it and he ended up boxing the leftover pizza. My tortellini soup was terrible... Whoever prepared the soup missed the flavours and made it up with salt. I was very disappointed as I was expecting something better for thst kind of restaurant. The salad.. The vegetables were extremely cold.. Salad should be fresh and at a correct temperature so you actually think they were just bought at the market.. Flavour was ok. But I have to say I was not impressed with my food. The person who cleaned the table did note that I didn't eat the soup.. He asked the reason and he apologized for it but he didn't offer to take the soup off my bill. My partner had to mention again tô the waitress so she can actually offer to do it. Overall. The service was good but I am not sure if I will be back to eat there as there are many better options in Edmonton and...
