Service was atrocious. The gal hardly cud converse n was so confused n definitely not customer orientated. Obviously they need more staff if she is the only front staff. We Ordered before we went to pick it up.yet we had to wait another extra 25 mins as the gal forgot apparently to tell kitchen. Whoever gave 5 star reviews to this Indian spice hut at Merritt st. has to be either their friends OR has never eaten real authentic south Indian food then. Beriani looked so unappetizing, they used short grain rice, n with absolutely no flavor.no accompanying curry or yogurt with it. The Chicken in it looked anemic, we were afraid it was not even cooked thru. Their NAAN IS NOT NAAN! If south indians cant make Naan, stick to appam n thosai. Their naan was a Pathetic half torn halves of some kinda of a floury pancake. Only the mutton was good. For 60.00 this was a huge disappointment on all fronts. Their FB Instagram n menus depicts great pics n description but its just a facade. I am not to critique newly opened eateries as I believe eateries are tough biz, but you hv to walk the walk if you want to do the talk. All in all, a big let down. The chefs n owners here shud go eat n learn what's a beriani or naan from Inchins, Indian aroma or Everest first, before offering at yr eatery. First time here but...
Read moreVisited the place today. I had two guests who were from Nepal and Canada. First of all, we were very doubtful regarding the spice level in the curries and happily it was not too hot since my friends fell in love with the dishes. We ordered fish Nirvana, Kerala meals with both fish and chicken curry as sides, Kerala Porotta and beef fry, and also a set of Puri with mutton roast. Each of the dishes tasted authentic and was better than anything that you will get around Niagara Falls. I definitely loved the Kingfish fry along with the meals and the curriy that comes on side for the meals, took me back to the memories in my home🥹. Fish Nirvana was very impressive and creamy enough to make you fall in love with it. I had my stomach full since the portion sizes were more than appropriate. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking to try authentic South Indian dishes regardless of any cultural differences. Will go back to get some fish fry(Kingfish) which was my personal favourite. The place do offer a very spacious parking space which makes the spot more convenient. The service was excellent and the waiting time of around 24 minutes was justifiable since we ordered around 12 dishes. The prices are affordable. NB:- They serve pappadamwith meals🥹 Dont forget to have a lime soda...
