Just had our wedding here.
Our room we were given was a bridal suite(201), however it was smaller than a lot of the other rooms we had seen. The other bridal suite (301) was booked for the same wedding party and it was given to a guest. We were a bit confused but it was okay. I had gotten into the room the night before, and it was REALLY warm. 75 degrees.. I tried to lower the heat but the thermostat was locked. I called to the front desk and was given a whole lot of attitude and told to “just open a window if you’re hot.” I would also like to point out in your information sheet they provide to you, it says specifically not to open the windows so??? lol.
We also got our hair & makeup done at the salon in the inn. They had told us that they needed us to come down in the robes provided by the inn as it is easiest for them. None of us had been given robes so I did have to call again, which was another issue. They tried to charge me a laundry fee for the robes that were supposed to be supplied. The bridal suite should have two provided, and we needed 5. Another one of the people who were getting hair & makeup also was in the other bridal suite, so essentially we should’ve had 4, and we could’ve paid for the 5th as it wouldn’t have been included.
The staff.. more so the wedding staff. The bar staff had actually been really rude and inconsiderate towards our wedding guests. We had multiple complaints from people who weren’t even drinking that they were being very rude. However some staff were great! Very nice people, always ensured we had a drink in hand. The dinner staff/cooks, not good.. we started dinner at 6pm and had estimated around 7:30/8:00 it would be wrapped up. At 7:30 we still had our main course and dessert to be served but the time between the second and third course was so long people had actually started to dance between. The food had very noticeable inconsistencies, and it was much better at the tasting we had in November.
The coordinator, We had met with her first thing when booking and were really excited to have our wedding done by her. She preached about wanting her couples to be successful in their wedding day, and making sure everything runs smoothly. This was actually the complete opposite of how it turned out. She sent out the bridal party more than one time to no music as the DJ was not ready. She yelled at me because our guests had no clue where they were going and we were “extremely in the way and since we are where we were, her staff are unable to do what needs to be done for my day”. Which this is understandable, however yelling at me infront of all the guest who were present was really embarrassing. Honestly, may be a bit harsh but my husband and I think we could’ve just gone without a day of coordinator. Maybe it was us who were being too specific, but after paying over $25k for 145 people, we want our night to go the way we planned.
Because of all the bumps and issues with dinner being so late, we had planned to do a couple ‘games’ (anniversary dance, shoe game) but it was so late by the time it was all finished that people had already started leaving. The stars given are for the hotel, and the hotel only. I do not recommend for a...
Read moreWe had our wedding at Stone Mill Inn last weekend, and I can confidently say to any future brides: this is the venue you’ve been searching for.
After visiting over 10 venues, Stone Mill stood out immediately. Between the stunning historic charm, beautiful on-site accommodations, incredible food and drinks, and top-tier staff – we knew we had found “the one.”
From day one, the team at Stone Mill made our entire wedding journey feel effortless. Janine, the general manager and coordinator, is truly a gem...there are no words. Janine went above and beyond for us in every way. No request was too much; her response was never “no,” but always, “let me see what I can do.” She made sure every detail was just right and took all the stress off our shoulders. Her warmth and professionalism made us feel so at ease throughout the process. She was absolutely amazing to work with.
Gena, the hotel manager, took incredible care of our guests’ accommodations. Her communication was impeccable, and everything ran smoothly from check-in to check-out. Our guests raved about how beautiful and comfortable their rooms were – especially the unique stone wall features in many of them. We stayed in the Loft Suite, which was not only gorgeous, but also perfect for getting ready the morning of. With two floors, a full kitchen, and a king-sized bed, it felt like our own private retreat.
The food was next level. We had some very picky food critics among our guests, and everyone was blown away by the quality and flavor. It was cooked to perfection. The bar was fully stocked with premium alcohol, and the bartenders kept the drinks flowing all night – the energy never dipped.
Speaking of energy, DJ Orion Sound brought the party to life. The dance floor was packed all night long!
The reception ballroom is both spacious and charming – we had 160 guests and never once felt cramped. Our head table sat in front of a stunning original stone wall, which added so much elegance to the room.
The whole venue has a timeless, elegant, and classic feel – but more than that, it feels like home. Every single staff member treated us like family. We truly could not have imagined a more perfect day, and this place will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We’re already planning to return for all of our anniversaries.

Read moreMy fiancé and I booked our wedding here in 2019 for a 2020 wedding. The Stone Mill Inn was by far the nicest venue we've been too, the setup is great for weddings, and their wedding packages are the best value/bang for your buck anywhere near Toronto. The wedding packages include options for other vendors like a photographer, etc. All you have to do is figure out decorations! THAT'S IT! Everything else is just a simple choice of vendor and you're off, all for ONE PRICE! There is a gorgeous Ballroom upstairs, and restaurant downstairs for cocktail hour, breakfast, etc.. There are rooms on site for your guests making this a one stop shop, with plenty of parking as well. We even stayed here for Valentines Day and had a great time using the spa which is also connected. Ashley Spurek (the Event Manager) and Tony (the owner) were great to deal with. Tony actually took us on our first tour as I believe Ashley was on vacation, and was absolutely great to deal with, that just shows you dedication from the top. Throughout our planning phase Ashley was there to help us out along the way and was super responsive, we never felt once that we were bothering her although we knew how busy she must have been. Unfortunately due to COVID, our wedding plans were up in the air and having most of our guests coming from the Durham Region area, we unfortunately felt that this venue would no longer work due to the restrictions on the number of guests. We had mentioned this to Ashley and even knowing that we may end up cancelling, she and the Stone Mill Inn were still SO accommodating. They were very flexible and offered us many different strategies to help ensure we could still have the wedding we wanted. Unfortunately again due to the restrictions, we decided to do a private backyard wedding so we could have 100 guests distanced, instead of 50 indoors, with Family and unfortunately had to cancel with the Stone Mill. Even still, we never once felt like we weren't treated MORE than fairly even when they knew we might cancel. I couldn't be happier with the customer service all around at the Stone Mill Inn. The food is great, and I know without question when we visit St. Catherines we're staying here or stopping by at least. I'll also be recommending to everyone I know that's having a wedding to go here. THE STONE MILL IN IS...
