Pizza hut is just the latest example of price gouging in newfoundland. Nobody should be supporting these owners and despite wanting pizza hut to return for years, I actually hope they end up going out of business again.
Almost all the prices have been raised by at least 5 dollars, sometimes even up to 10 or 15 dollars more. If you look at the specials on the website or the app you'll see the prices in the pictures are all cheaper than what is actually in the store. This is because of the greedy owners increasing it.
I was in nova Scotia a couple months ago and got pizza hut a bunch while I was there. They had the medium favorites which was like 11.50. Here your only choice is a large and it's more than double the price. The melts were also less than $10 and here they are like $15.
It's an absolute scam and they deserve to end up forced to shut down again. Don't fund this nonsense.
Other chains like domino's and little caesars are half the price and just as good, but if those aren't your things, local places like Peter's pizza and acropolis are also quite a bit cheaper. It really is a shame that the owners decided to try overcharging because the food is pretty good and I'd like to get it more but it simply isn't worth it.
I'd also like to point out that it is completely ridiculous that I got a takeout order and already overpaid for my food, and they have the nerve to ask for a tip on the debit machine. Are you joking? I drove there myself with my own gas to pick up my own food that I was overcharged for, and you'll still ask...
Read morePizza Hut is going to suffer like every other new restaurant in this province. Prices are out of wack with our economy. First start with the good, staff are nice, they know what they are doing and are working hard, location is in a nice spot, good parking, (you'll need it for the wait). But that's where the good ends. We order the Medium pizza 2 toppings, 8 wing Combo. Look the deal up in NS its $20. Welcome to Newfoundland it $32. Extra $12 to dine in Newfoundland. They say the website will be up next week. But if the prices stay the same I can't see this place lasting a year. Good luck, but I think we will see the tragic history of Pizza Hut...
Read moreI've been jonesing for some good pizza which is exceedingly rare outside the city, so I was looking forward to trying Pizza Hut when I went in yesterday, knowing of course that no chain store could take the crown off of TRP. I found Pizza Hut to be sort of like Little Caesars, except nothing hot and ready, took a half hour for them to make my order, and it was very expensive. The food wasn't bad, but only just ok, certainly not worth Boston Pizza style prices for a takeout only place. Stick to LC if you are looking for a deal, or try one of the many independent pizzerias around town that are both superior...
