We have had Plaza Sushi on our “to go” list for quite some time and finally decided to make our way there. While giving 5 stars would have been easy to reflect the food and service, there was minimal parking and ordering through their QR code was a bit finicky as the menu lay out could have been better. For parking, there was only a few spots and shared with others in the strip. We did have a to wait a few minutes for a spot to open. Not a big deal and definitely not reasons to avoid this spot! When we entered, we were greeted almost immediately and told to sit anywhere we like! It was bright and spacious - easy to find a spot. I will add gently, that the chairs were uncomfortable (hard steel), if you plan to stay awhile! When seated, everything was there for us and she brought over cold waters - the water tasted nice! While the menu lay out was not my favourite - the food was absolutely delicious. The temperatures were on point - not to hot and ready to eat. The goyza was crispy and flavourful. It was appreciated that every dish was garnished in some way which I’ve never seen edamame garnished/seasoned other than the traditional way with salt. The entrees were beautifully delivered to the table. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavourful and really tasted so good. The ginger and wasabi did not disappoint. Even the soy sauce was delicious - I cannot make this stuff up guys lol. The rolls were built well and exploded with flavour. Our waitress was kind and attentive. She was busy cleaning and stocking supplies when not helping. Overall it was a great experience and when craving sushi next, we will make our way back to Plaza Sushi. Think of me when diving into any of their delicious dishes, I’m already jealous I’m not there!

Just found out about Plaza Sushi today online and checked out their website immediately. I’ve been wanting really good sushi for many months now! But I will ONLY eat REALLY good sushi, because honestly it’s not even worth it otherwise.... I looked at the website, it says premium sushi, made to order, so I thought... this is my kind of sushi place, worth a try. I ordered a ‘luxe’ party tray for the 2 of us. I wasn’t sure where to go when I got to the plaza, I knew it was in the Shoppers Drug Mart plaza on first and elm. Then I saw the ‘sushi to go’ sign on the corner store and honestly I was a bit worried... But let me tell you!...my worries were completely unfounded!! The customer service was fantastic, the 2 young men behind the counter were very friendly and attentive. I asked them how long they had been making sushi and one said he just assists the chef who has made sushi for years!! When I was handed my platter I was further encouraged because I could tell it was VERY fresh and made just for me, not premade or even yet refrigerated!...which makes for the very best sushi! They were so thankful for my order and obvious enthusiasm to have a good quality sushi chef right in St. Thomas!! I couldn’t wait to get home and try it! And just as I’d hoped my dreams came true!! Such a beautiful presentation and selection greeted my eyes and my tastebuds were blown away by the quality and perfect balance of flavours!! There was so much sushi for such a great price I thought there might be leftovers...but alas! Haha that definitely didn’t happen! I am so excited that Plaza Sushi has opened right here in St. Thomas!! Now I won’t have to wait months and months to get fantastic sushi!! I will be a regular customer for sure!!!

THIRD UPDATE: We won't be coming back to Plaza. There are just too many instances of the food quality being subpar, and I've heard this from many St. T residents who loved it when it opened too! The portion size of fish is so small, the love and care they had for their rolls when they opened is gone. It's so incredible disappointing. UPDATED REVIEW: I had to update my review that was glowing because we ordered and this was the crispy spicy salmon roll we were served. I am disappointed, there was barely any salmon. This is the second time lately Plaza has been underwhelming. I hope this isn't a trend because when it opened it was amazing! PREVIOUS REVIEW: I've ordered takeout from Plaza and have eaten in a few times now, and every time the food in fantastic! I dont think I can go back to all you can eat because the quality of fish and taste is superb! The rolls are large and have generous portions of fish. The decor is lovely and makes for an enjoyable eat in experience. Staff are friendly.

If I could give 0 stars I would… I ordered in skip the dishes and for some reason instead of delivery it went through as a pick up order which I’ve never had happen before. I called the restaurant to explain what had happened and gave my order information and confirmation number. They confirmed that I had ordered and sent an ACE delivery driver to me to drop off the food. ACE arrived and let me know that I owe $70 .. I was confused because I had just talked with the restaurant.. I called them back and asked why I would be paying them again since I already payed on the skip app.. which they confirmed. They didn’t have an answer. I offered to pay the ACE driver the delivery fee and show proof I’ve paid but the restaurant wanted me to pay again and said they’ll have to bring the food back to the restaurant since I wasn’t going to pay for it.. (again) the restaurant said just get your money back through skip the dishes… that wasn’t the point by this time it had been an hour and a half since I ordered.. I just wanted my sushi. I of course was also trying to deal with skip at the same time and skip wouldn’t dispute it with me since it was a pick up order and it was paid for in full on my debit card. The rest was on me to figure out with plaza sushi.. after calming down I once again called plaza sushi to ask if there was any way I could get it delivered somehow and I would pay the delivery fee no problem. They told me nope they can’t do that if I wanted it it’s in there fridge and I can come get it.. but if I wanted it delivered that I would have to pay $70 more well what do you do if you don’t have that option and by then the deep fried stuff I had ordered was cold anyways.. they never made it right and it sucks because I really enjoyed their sushi and will NOT...
