Spicer's Bakery In St Thomas — Restaurant in St. Thomas

This place does not deserve one star. I asked for 24 baby girl cookies for a baby shower 4 days after the day I called. I settled for SIMPLE designs on round cookies because what I wanted would have taken a couple weeks- fair enough. I still expected cute and neat printed cookies to be able to bring. Also, to decide these designs took SO much longer than I wanted because the managers could not describe what could be done in this "short notice", they just responded "it depends". When I got these cookies that I paid $53.00 for, I was appalled at the lack of care and effort put into these designs. Not to mention the spelling error made on 4 of them that I was told could be fixed by scrapping off the "s". Rediculous. When this was brought up to the OWNER, she said they are well done for the time they had to do them and I should have expected them to turn out this way. She refused to give me a refund and said she would never make cookies for me in the future because of my expectations. Store credit was the only thing given which she ripped my off $5, only putting $48 on a gift card. Since I refused to bring these cookies to the shower, my lovely aunt who works at GRANDMAS OVEN IN AYLMER, made me 30 cookies in 2 hours the night before, from her own home, with her own 2 hands. Years ago I had cancer surgery and it took away the luxury of enjoying donuts for me. No matter how many times I would try and eat a Tim Horton's donut they tasted just terrible to me. I walked into Spicer's Bakery and thought, why not try something different. You could see the obvious difference in the donuts quality and the price you pay is actually worth it for what you get. I bought a half dozen donuts and a couple lemon long johns. Oh the memories came flashing back to when my grandpa bought me the lemon long johns when we would visit the Aylmer location. I had completely forgotten that......but wow wow and wow they were amazing and the dough so soft and yummy! Talk about a world of difference! I was finally able to eat a donut again after over 10yrs of having to go without. Thank you Spicer's for offering a first class top quality donut! Your icing and fillings are top notch. Lots of parking spaces makes it easy to run in and out, plus you're prices are not bad at all. The various options of other deserts, breads, pies etc are amazing as well. There is always something for everyone...

I called ahead and l am not sure if Jess answered that day, very helpful person and a customer pleaser. The following day l called to find out if my products were in the store. Jess was the one who took my order. What great service, you could hear her smiling as she talked, and very helpful with my order, and a very pleasing manner. All businesses should have an employee like this, that can meet the clients on the phone or in person, also with a business eye for assistance regarding the best buys for the customer questioning what more to buy. Again, an employee looking out for the business. Recently l went to the dollar store west London and met with a cashier who obviously hated her job and being there , she totally showed all the opposite traits of a thorough employee, it made me feel like l never wanted to go there again. While St Thomas Spicers l will make an opportunity to drive from London to lovely St Thomas for their ooh so lovely cream buns and lemon long-johns.
