I don't really review things often but the service I experienced here was pretty poor. Without going into too much detail, due to a time crunch, I placed a takeout order so it could be ready, but I planned to eat at the restaurant with my family. Even though we were literally the only customers in the place, I got weird looks and shrugged off when I asked for an extra plate (they did give me one). And they even yelled at my 6 year old daughter who was grabbing the prewrapped fork and knife roll, which was right beside our table in a bin (not like it was back in the employee only area or anything). The food was quite good and a decent value overall but the service really turned me off. Don't think I'll be returning.
EDIT in response to the restaurant reply: When you say "as per your restaurant policies" about not letting online orders dine in, that is not made clear anywhere. I also asked when we came to pickup the order if we could dine in. I would have been more satisfied if you just said no (which nobody did, it was just mentioned that the order was packaged), instead of saying yes and then proceeding to provide the poor service and attitude. I would suggest if you don't want customers to grab cutlery, maybe place it in a location where it is not right beside tables in an open bin. Also if customers do mistakenly go to grab one, a polite notice would work because the server did indeed yell at my daughter and in a rude tone. It wasn't an all out scream obviously, but I would still consider it yelling, especially at such a young kid who did not know better. Overall I just had higher expectations of service. Like I said, I don't place many reviews and I'm generally very easy going and positive, but this experience was not a good one. I wish this restaurant the best, but I won't...
Read moreDecided to take the family out for lunch. I've been there before years ago and it was fine. But today we walked in and almost slipped on the floor. There seemed to have a layer of grease or oil with dirt all over. Floors could use a good cleaning.
I ordered a club house and asked to have my fries substituted with a poutine. When my order arrived there was no substitution and I got fries. That was fine by me because I understand things happen and I didn't bother saying anything because it wasn't a big deal. The waitress arrived shortly after and noticed the mistake. I told her it was fine and I would just eat the fries. She took my plate as I'm holding my club in hand and tells me that it's already been added to the bill. I told her no and to leave me plate but she left regardless. I'm now sitting there club in hand with no plate after I told her to leave it alone. I felt extremely disrespected with someone taking my plate from under me after I tell them to leave me food alone.
A second waitress arrived (extremely polite) and apologies for what had just occurred and gave me a small plate so that I can continue to eat. My poutine the arrives with the other half of my club which was taken away initially. The gravy was some of the chunkiest gravy I've ever seen. The fries were reheated from frozen which is funny because I remember reading a reply on a previous review which claimed that their food is cooked fresh. My wife also mentioned her order was not to her liking. My daughter had pasta with butter. Their was a puddle of butter sitting at them bottom of the plate which was not to appetizing.
Overall this place is not what I remember it to be and it seems like the quality had taken a...
Read moreWhen we visit other towns we tend to pick Wimpys as an alternative to fast food for dining out as normally it is clean, and has good food. This unfortunately was a disappointing experience. The gentleman who sat us and served us was nice but once our food was served we literally never saw him again. He just left the restaurant while we were eating. We were the only people in there and our drinks were never refilled, we were never asked if our food was okay etc My sons chicken fingers looked like they had just been reheated, the all day breakfast was overcooked and almost inedible. The Jr burger was overcooked and rubbery. A different waitress came to collect our dishes and told us the original person who had taken care of us had to "run and get beer". This lady (while friendly enough) unfortunately stank of cigarette smoke and had alcohol on her breath. When we were leaving we went to use the washroom. In the women's washroom one stall was out of order and was very dirty. My shoes were literally sticking to the floor. My husband and son refused to use the mens washroom - the urinal was also out of order and my husband said it didn't look like the stall had been cleaned in ages. We ended up driving to Tim Hortons to use their washroom. Overall very disappointing and definitely not worth the $60 I paid for a some bacon and eggs, kids chicken fingers and a...
