Niakwa Pizza Steinbach — Restaurant in Steinbach

We ordered 2 large pizzas to share with family from out of town as we've ordered before and felt it was a special pizza. The delivery driver came and his debit machine was out of paper so they took the pizza back to the restaurant so he could get more paper for his machine. When we finally got our pizza it looked really messy and gross but we've enjoyed the pizza before so we still ate it. About 5-10 minutes after we ate our stomachs started to turn. We called to get our money back as we spent 78$ for 2 pizzas that were gross. We went to the restaurant and the workers gave my boyfriend a hard time with returning his money to the point where he got mad and the workers had to call the manager to come. When the manager pulled up with a man they immediately confronted us aggressively where the man raised his voice and came directly to my boyfriends personal space. The manager called the police because she said my boyfriend treated her workers poorly and said unnecessary things. All we wanted was our money back from the poor food quality and service. Extremely disappointing management and a situation that could've been avoided if the establishment would have valued their customers and reimbursed us. We were craving pizza tonight and decided to try Niakwa for the first time. We ordered a medium Hawaiian pizza for pick-up and to our surprise the lady on the phone offered us a free upgrade to a large. Perhaps because it was Victoria Day or they were out of medium boxes. We didn’t ask but we appreciated the gesture.

We were told the order would take 25min so we headed over after that time. The place is just about 5min from us. We paid a little under $25 for a large thin crust pizza which was cut into squares. In hindsight, we should’ve asked for it to be cut into regular slices but that’s on us.

The edges were nice and crisp which I enjoy but as we got to the center pieces we noticed something off. The dough in the middle was noticeably undercooked. It was pale, doughy, and not fully baked through. When we checked the rest of the pizza, we found that the entire center was consistently undercooked. The cheese and toppings in those areas were also just lukewarm.

We called the store to share our feedback and the lady was kind and accommodating. She offered to either remake the pizza or give us a refund and we chose the refund. They switched owners and managers and it's not even half as good. Seems like they go through workers alot. Delivery is small radius and most of the time late if you're a little bit out of town and sometimes even late when you're in town and the price has skyrocketed which everything has.
