I am disabled, use a cane and wheelchair. Second time here. First time, one male (owner?) followed me around wherever I went in store. I brushed it off as maybe they hadn't seen me there before, so I brushed it off, (even though it made me feel very uncomfortable). I went in Monday again, and a second male followed me around AGAIN! No matter which aisle I was shopping in, he had his hands on his hips, and was STARING!! My caregiver was with me as well. I politely asked him why he was following me, told him how uncomfortable I felt.....I also felt shame and embarrassment, publicly humiliated!! He said 'Well, we have lots of theft in the store, so....' No other customers were being followed on either occassion, only me!! I was polite, I've never stolen anything in my life! I was shamed by your stalking behavior, for no reason!! Other customers also began to wonder what was going on, and also looked....I wanted to to just leave, but really needed the $70.00 in items for a meal. After paying for my items, I cried my eyes out when I got outside the store! Why would you think that you have the right to treat me with so much disrespect???? Because I'm disabled, this gives you the 'right' to treat me like a thief?? A friend happened to be having lunch inside, and seen this. She called me today to ask what that was all about? I am beyond angry today...You have negatively affected this friendship by your horrid actions, as well as slandered my good reputation!! Steinbach is a small community. Shame on...

I visited Main Bread and Butter on December 13, 2024. The store presents a festive atmosphere, with well-stocked foods from countries like the Netherlands, Germany, and of course, some good home cooked Mennonite food made right on site. Grab your German Stollen or some Honey Waffles from Holland, as well as a hot homemade Somma Borscht or Chicken Noodle soup. Other pre-made meals are available as well. This store is bustling this Christmas season with many folks from the community and beyond. You're sure to meet someone that you know. Thanks, Main Bread and Butter! Merry Christmas to all, Frohe...
