Our first waitress was lovely. My husband enjoyed his dark IPA. We liked the interior and atmosphere. But then we had three different waitresses after that. They were just ok. The onion soup was mainly broth, little to no cheese or bread. While the broth was tasty, it was not as you would expect French Onion soup. Very long wait to our main courses. The cheeseburger was good, but very small patty. It was more veggies than burger (see picture). The 12oz boeuf was not 12oz. It was closer to 7oz and quite tough. When we inquired as to the portion, our waitress said how wonderful the organic vegetables were though... No compensation offered. It was very busy-perhaps they had to ration portions? I did not finish the meat, as it was too tough. The potatoes tasted somewhat burnt, so I did not finish those either. The other vegetables were, along with our first waitress, a good part of the evening. The last waitress tried unsuccessfully to remind us how wonderful their vegetables are, and then reported back to her manager or some level of staff member who sat directly behind us and earlier excused himself as we moved our seats to allow him to plug in his computer next to me. This is our third time visiting the Quebec area in a year as we have close friends living nearby. Quite...

Initially wasn't feeling up for the drive from Lac Beauport even though it wasn't far at all - but I'm really happy we went!

Visiting from New Brunswick and we were looking for somewhere we could bring our dog as well. Dogs are allowed on the terrace/patio area with no problem and they even brought a dog bowl with water for him!

I'm terrible at French but my wife can get by, it was no problem at all, everyone was able to communicate in English (seriously Quebec does bilingual right, other provinces should learn but I digress). Staff was wonderful and super friendly.

Food was great! I saw another review saying the burgers don't come with fries - that's no longer the case. The burgers do come with fries although you probably won't be able to finish them as the burgers are large and absolutely delicious. Perfect buns! The right density to absorb the juices of the burger without falling apart but not too dense that you can't get a good bite. And the outer crust has the perfect crisp to it. Meat was perfectly cooked and juicy as well. I had the blue cheese burger and my wife had the cheese burger. Both were super satisfying and honestly the perfectly constructed burgers.

Give this place a shot, you...

Very crowded on a Friday night at 9pm. Parking lot is pretty small but they use a field next to the lot for the overflow. There are no lights so be sure and have your phone ready so you can see we're you are going. Rustic interior with good reggae music playing while we were there. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. My group had four different kinds of beer, each was good, the pilsner was fruity, the porter was very thin but the head was creamy. The brown ale was heavily carb onated, almost soda like. The smoked meat poutienne was excellent, as were the nachos. Goat cheese pizza was really over spiced, as was a dinner salad. Both would have been good but for that. Portion sizes were ok. The service was good, French is of course the preferred language, but the waitress was kind enough to switch to English for the people in our party who struggled. English language menus...

WOW! What a find! I drove over from a three night stay in Montreal for two nights at an AirBnB off the beaten path and wasn’t sure what I would find for good eats. Well a google maps search and La Souche came up as the # 1 place for restaurants. I made the 22 minute drive and am so happy I did. Being from the states and in the heart of Quebecois and not speaking french I was not sure. Well right from the start with the Hostess seating me to my awesome server Jeremy (hope I’m spelling that right) all that apprehension went away. I asked for a menu in English and Jeremy immediately started speaking English! The beers are amazing and the cheeseburger with fries were so I damn good! I am already thinking I’ll be going back tomorrow 04 Jul 25. This is one of those must go places for sure!!

It's a nice place to spend an evening with your friends. But they use unethical tricks to overcharge customers. We ordered 3 various classiques from their menu and the server brought fries along with our order. We didn't ask a question thinking it as a side that comes with the classiques. We never ordered them. And while paying the bill, they had added these 3 fries to the amount. Which is a very cheap tactic. If we never ordered it, why would you charge for it. The server then understood and made the reduction from the invoice. Also they took about 40 minutes just to bring us the bill for the first time and then another 15 to resolve this. Not coming back. Gave 1 star for the ambiance and 1 for the beer. Avoid!
