I came up from Calgary recently for some shopping in Edmonton an decided to take a drive out west on a beautiful day! I came across this gem of a restaurant in Stony Plain! First visit into town and loved it :) Was greeted very promptly by the server at the front door who seated us in the beautiful dining room. We tried the pizza to start which had a delicious sauce with the right balance of flavors, heaping of great cheese, toppings and a nice golden brown crust. All 4 entrees were fantastic which included the Greek chicken and shrimp souvlaki with 2 full skewers, famous lemon potatoes, fresh tasting Greek salad and more. Greek ribs were also excellent, fall off the bone tender with a great seasoning rub of EVOO, lemon & oregano. It really is that simple for great ribs! We also tried the classic Liver & onions which were very tender, flavorful with a nice assortment of veggies.
Service was top notch from both our servers, prices very reasonable for excellent quality food, atmosphere and a great feeling of value for money. So sick of the overpriced chain garbage and a feeling of being ripped off for 4 oz's of protein and low quality food for exorbitant prices and poor service. The lovely owner or manager also checked in a few times to make sure all was well with everything at my table and the patrons dining that night. I picked up a bottle of their special olive oil for home. This oil tastes fantastic and I swear makes you feel 10...
Read moreWent for supper and ordered the special that the waitress recommended Caesar salad with shrimp and crab meat. When it arrived it was not crab it was imitation meat, I mentioned it to the young staff member who brought it to my table and she told me I was wrong. Then she got the server and the server said it was imitation I told her I was expecting real crab meat just like it was advertised on the menu. She proceeds to tell me I should have known for $20 dollars that it wouldn’t be real crab, I said that’s what was advertised and how would I know how much crab was they were putting on the salad. She says well we serve this all the time. Again I said you advertised crab not fake crab meat. She expected me to eat it and I said I don’t want it. Then the server said she will have to see if she can get that removed off my bill. I was shocked, I am pretty sure by my facial expression I would not be paying for something I wasn’t eating. Finally got my bill and left rather quickly, truly an awkward Seinfeld moment. There was no follow up by the manager. Definitely not getting my recommendation. Let to go to Cheesecake Cafe where you can get a lobster sandwich with real lobster. I am pretty sure it’s not good to falsely advertise food products when people can have serious...
Read moreWalked in and the hostess gave us trouble for sitting our selves despite no one being at the hostes stand and the sign saying "please be seated". The wait for the food was horendes. Took us 2 hours to get out, in the mean time both of our dishes were overcooked or pre made. The pita bread was clearly not made in house the rice was probably pre made and reheated.Along with the huge peices of vegetables in the salads it had bones and random peices of meat. My dish wich didn't have carrots had a random chunk of carrot. Both dishes had very small amount of protine. Our waitress left halfway through the sevice and other servers would ignore us we needed to ask for the bill because no one would help us. At the end of the day it cost 2 of us $100 to eat in a terible atmosphere with littlery plastic knives. Would bot recommend even showing up to...
