Back Alley Burrito — Restaurant in Strathroy-Caradoc

Legitimately the worst restaurant I've ever been to, I'm not saying this as a hyper statement, I actually cannot think of a worse one I've ever been to.

First of all, the food quality is just terrible. It's hard to exactly describe, but essentially the ingredients aren't the kind of things you would expect at a taco or Mexican style place. Super bland, and as if all the ingredients were bought from the grocery store a Lunchables kit. It was as if someone had never interacted with any of the food or culture that they're trying to mimic before ever and instead was doing it from a video cassette tape they found in a time capsule.

The prices are ridiculous, I could have made a better more authentic burrito at home and the price was as if Montezuma himself was part of the process.

The only thing slightly nice about the places that they tried for a vibe of being a little hole in the wall, but little holes and wall are typically reasonably priced and have outstanding quality to make up for the hole in the wall vibe. They don't depend on the hole in the wall vibe to make up for terrible food and terrible prices.

This restaurant has been my favorite for the past 5 years. my company orders from them all the time. however I noticed if the owner is not working in the shop, the quality is diminished extremely. I ordered today through skip the dishes and the burrito meat inside was cold the refried beans was cold the inside of the burrito was colder than the outside. they also did not Grill the outside so the paper stuck to it. when I called to let them know the quality is not the same the manager said that once it leaves the shop it is up to skip the dishes to remain the quality, I asked her if she thinks skip the dishes put my burrito in ice before they delivered it? On a random road trip and happened through the downtown. My wife immediately said “Oh my gosh look burrito’s!” We pulled around back and I went in and ordered 😋. She had a chicken burrito 🌯 with SO MANY options she had to take a good 3 minutes to plan her order(you can order online as well +++). I had a Quesadilla. Both of the orders were made with FRESH amazing ingredients. We would have ate inside, it was such a chill spot (actual vinyl playing while I waited!) but we had our dog with us so went for picnic in a nearby park instead. After we finished she looked at me and said wow, I’m so full! I was the same. Portion was more than generous, and as I said before everything tasted so fresh.
