Banh Mi & Bites — Restaurant in Strathroy-Caradoc

Wow, so happy we found this place. We were on our way from Detroit to Toronto and pulled off to find a restroom for one of our kids. Since it was lunch time I asked my wife to find a place nearby. I was fully expecting to have to settle for fast food or a local diner, as we were in a pretty rural area. Somehow we came across this place.

As per usual, the best ethnic restaurants are generally found in non-descript strip malls, and this one is no exception. I've eaten Vietnamese food all over the USA and this was some of the best I've had. It's a small place and not much to look at. We came during a lunch rush (it was bustling with both dine-in and take-home business the whole time we were there) and since it's a very small staff it took a minute to gat our food, but man was it worth it.

I had a chicken katsu bahn mi sandwich - the chicken was seasoned and fried perfectly. My dish came with a mini bowl of beef pho soup and it was terrific. My wife had some red curry with chicken and vegetables and my children shared a tofu bowl with Vietnamese rice noodles and veggies. Everything was fresh and delicious. We liked it so much we're thinking of stopping on out way back...

Food that should not be missed! I've eaten here as much as 30 times in a year. So addictive.

I've had everything here. They have a nice short menu, however everything here is cooked properly, and so tasty... consistently. I've never tasted anything that was off one day compared to other visits.

I recommend everything ... And like someone else said, their spring rolls are crazy good!

Also they make the Pho all about the taste of the broth.. It's amazing, and the spices come on the side to add yourself. They really want you to taste the yummy Pho first.

Edited Sept 1, 2017 I've been coming here since I moved to town 4 years ago. I have to say this is one of few places that have never, ever declined in any way such as the tater if the food, wonderful staff, friendly owners etc.

The town is Strathroy is lucky having such a quality establishment in town.

Amazing food! Second time we have had food from here. First time was takeout. Quiet night for dining in. The food was excellent, fresh and filling. Worth the wait (as in the days they are open) and stop (we made a trip into Strathroy just to eat here). They were able to make accomodations to our needs with one being vegetarian and no onions. It took us a bit to understand to go to the counter to order a coffee to finish. But do not skip the Vietnamese Coffee.....well worth a delightful finish to the meal. The Banh Mi chicken was delicious and it was the perfect night to pair it with a Mini Pho. That was a full and filling meal with just enough room for a Vietnamese coffee. The Pad Thai was also filling and had a balanced amount of vegetables. We started with Fresh Rolls....with an amazing house made dip!
