If I could rate 6 out of 5 stars, I would!

My husband and I went to Tia’s Place as our friends were hosting their very intimate reception there. We are so glad they did!

We started with the appetizers - which could have been our main entree and we would have been perfectly happy! Their lightly breaded calamari and shrimp were the stars of the show, and we couldn’t get enough!!

We were then served soup and our main entrees. I had a fish entree that was absolutely delicious. What completely knocked me over was their seafood paella. I have been searching in Toronto for such a perfect paella and actually found it in Strathroy! Perfectly flavorful and moist, without being soggy.

What really solidified our experience at Tia’s was the owner, MJ. From appetizers till we were leaving, MJ perfectly embodied a warm, kind, friendly, professional and hospitable host. We felt like we were at her home. She made a point to check in on every guest and made everyone feel so welcome. She really cares about her work and the food, and it shows! She saw that my husband and I were heading out without dessert, and stopped us so she could quickly pack two slices of cheesecake (again, amazing) for us for the road. How kind!

Will definitely come again!!

Tia’s breakfast is back! Finally after the covid wait, we get to have delicious Tia’s breakfast again.

They’ve also renovated and changed up the menu a bit.

Delicious authentic Portuguese cuisine.

One of my new favorite places in Strathroy. Thanks to Tia's place and Family Table, I know what food can taste like :)

Food here is like an art form.

Here's a couple of points:

-Bacon is the only thing here that I've had problems with - its usually overdone, but they always redo it for me with no hassles. -Ham is incredible here- THICK. You've never seen eggs benny like this before. Generous portions of ham. -They know spices and herbs! They pair everything with the perfect amount of a unique herb or spice to keep the food interesting until the last bite. -Soups here are perfect. Home made, fresh ingredients, not too thick.

If they have the cream of asparagus when you go - try that, it's so good.

The interior of this place is probably the best looking restaurant interior in Strathroy.
