Da Mama's Kitchen — Restaurant in Summerside

Caroline and I were there for a bike night, so the wait times jumped up, but the staff managed to provide excellent service under pressure, and got our orders perfectly.

Caroline had the little mama burger and stole some of my onion rings while I had the Oktoberfest sausage with cheese and fried onions. She gave me a bite of her burger and it was lovely! A bit drippy, but quite good. My sausage was very similar to the “street meat” I used to buy when I worked in downtown Toronto. The bun let it down a touch, but those fried onions were fantastic.

The food was great and so close to Cool Breeze dairy bar that we ate our ice cream while waiting for our order. As Caroline says, “We’re adults and we can have our ice cream first!” She is a keeper, right?

2pc fish and chips was the best fish and chips I have had in a looonnngggg time. Absolutely crushed the batter consistency and the fish was cooked perfectly.

Wife got the loaded fries and rated it a solid 10/10 and demolished them with glee.

Son got a cheeseburger and fries and gave it a thumbs up, daughter got the chicken fingers and fries and loved it as well.

I was given enough french fries to feed a family of 8 in 4 meals, that was a bonus as the fries were also delicious.

Also staff noticed right away I was from the island but my family was "from away"! So kudos to that as my wife got a kick out of it.

Should have taken pics of the food before we ate, but I was starving!

We read the reviews so decided to try it, the food was mediocre at best, the burgers were pre-cooked barely warm in the middle and burnt on the outside, canned mushrooms on the burger, the loaded fries had warmed over meat the was probably cooked frozen then thawed and reheated so it was burnt. The batter didn't stay on the fish, so frozen and not dried and lastly there is no such thing as fresh frozen fries they are either fresh OR frozen. We wished we saved our$100 and went to MacDonalds, it would have seemed like a 5...
