Pizza Delight — Restaurant in Summerside

Our experience as a family left us feeling very disgusted. With everything from the dirty with faeces restroom to the disrespectful server with a terrible attitude and behavior and even more disrespectful manager. The way they spoke to us after we asked if my daughter had to pay for her meal which tasted terrible. "Well yes she does because its not our fault she didn't like it and well she drank her pop didn't she and she ate her side and is getting desert." It is your fault the food tasted terrible and she sat there not eating embarrased to complain and no wonder look what happened. The server raised her voice and pointed her finger at my mother when my mother simply asked are you treating us like this because we are First Nations, my daughter is Jamaican and First Nations. An honest question for the terrible service we were receiving as it happens in this world, people can be racist but not enough are they questioned for it. We then were yelled at I am not a racist, I am a Meti from Timmons Ontario I am sorry if your having a bad day but I am human and you have no right to talk to me this way I can't believe you all while yelling and pointing her finger at my mom. I replied it doesn't matter what race you are you can be racist even to your own race. The thought came to my mind she is not an Islander but that would be racist of me to say and not fair seeing as I live in Ontario now and am home for funerals, two losses in our family so yes we were having a bad day a bad week even. So I kept my mouth shut which is what she should have been doing instead of yelling at us. The tables by the window were very cold to sit at and very uncomfortable the atmosphere is dark and cold also. We always celebrate family dinners there and it was one of our favorite restaurants. I had a reservation for 5 people at 5pm. The server sat us, got our drinks and didn’t return for another 25 minutes. I had to ask another wait staff to request she comes back to take our order. We then received our meals, she did one quality check nearing the end of our meals where, my sister received the wrong side, was charged for it; the wine we were served had definitely been opened days prior and had oxidized, it was ‘old’. My mother had a twist tie IN her food, to which the server apologized but did nothing to ‘make it right’, or compensate for it.

I had asked when I arrived to be given the bill for entire table, that request was also not met. I have been here numerous times, and there usually always seems to be something not quite right, I understand the industry greatly, as I work in it, therefore have a higher expectation for when things go wrong, for them to make it right. That’s how we continue to have return customers, right?

Ordered 3 Donairs (wrap style)for takeout 2 weeks ago. They came with the salads. When we got Home we opened them up and they were the flat (pizza style ones) we kindly called back and said we got the wrong ones any chance we could come back to switch them out. Lady said sure. When we arrived back at the store we asked if we could purchase one of the pizza style donairs. All was good, when we asked for the salad with it the lady told us no sorry you don’t get a salad. When I said the other 3 came with one she said rudely that this one wouldn’t be coming with it. Even though i paid the price to have the salad with it. Really didn’t want to argue. So we left.
