âââââ An unforgettable Japanese dining experience â a hidden gem for ramen, udon, and sushi lovers!
This was our second time visiting this incredible Japanese restaurant, and once again, it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff with genuine smiles and kindness. They remembered us from our previous visit, and that made us feel instantly at home. The atmosphere is cozy, calm, and beautifully decorated, creating the perfect environment for a relaxed family meal.
Letâs talk about the food, because itâs truly the heart of the experience. We ordered a variety of dishes: ⢠Ramen: The broth was deep, rich, and comfortingâclearly simmered for hours to develop that perfect umami flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the toppings were generous, and the portion was just right. ⢠Udon soup: Thick, soft udon noodles in a fragrant, savory broth. It was light yet deeply flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. ⢠Sushi: This is where they truly shine. We tried the California rolls and the smoked salmon sushi, and both were of incredible quality. The rice was fresh and well-prepared, the fillings were clean, flavorful, and obviously made with care. The smoked salmon had that delicate, buttery texture and just the right amount of smokinessâeasily some of the best sushi weâve had in British Columbia.
One of the best parts? Our two young sons, Eiden and Darwin, absolutely love this place. At just 5 and 3 years old, theyâre already little sushi fans, and this restaurant is their favorite. Itâs not always easy to find spots that are family-friendly and offer authentic, high-quality Japanese cuisine, but this place nails it. The staff were incredibly sweet with them, even bringing extra napkins and small bowls without us asking. It felt like they really cared about making the experience enjoyable for every guest, including the little ones.
Service here is beyond excellent. The people who attend to your table and prepare the food are not only attentive and professional, but also extremely friendly and warm. Youâre greeted with smiles and treated with the kind of hospitality that makes you want to keep coming back. When we left, every staff member we passed thanked us and said goodbyeâit truly felt like leaving a friendâs home.
The prices are also very reasonable given the high quality of ingredients and generous portion sizes. Itâs a rare thing these days to find such a well-balanced combination of quality, flavor, service, and affordability, and thatâs exactly what this restaurant delivers.
I have absolutely no doubt we will return again and again. This place has officially become our go-to for Japanese food. If youâre a fan of ramen, udon, or sushiâor if youâre just looking for a welcoming, delicious spot to enjoy a meal with loved onesâyou owe it to yourself to try this restaurant. Theyâve earned every single one of these five...
Read moreI found that the rating of the restaurant is quite skewed because of its immediate demographic. I ordered a teriyaki beef rice box. Keep in mind it wasnât very busy at the time I was eating here.
I understand that it might have been a long day for the worker, but the server came back 15 minutes after I ordered to take my order again before realizing I already ordered. I asked for tea when I first ordered as well.
So about 20 extra minutes later, my food arrives, but itâs the wrong order. They have sent me chicken instead of the beef I ordered. However kindly informed them of the mistake and I insisted it was fine since I didnât want them to waste perfectly fine food. This is when I noticed I havenât gotten my tea yet, so I kindly requested it. Not a problem.
Now letâs get to reviewing the food. The teriyaki chicken I received came with a miso soup, white rice, and salad. The teriyaki chicken was 7.5/10, the miso soup was 3/10 (bland yet way too salty), and the salad and rice were good.
Now for some context, Iâve developed a strong palate for all foods offered in sushi restaurants through years of experience. Iâve been to the best restaurants and the worst ones. Obviously, I ordered only one thing so I canât rate all of their sushi, but from my brief experience, the restaurant is run by nice individuals, but is overrated and...
Read moreThis is run by someone who has not idea what is Japanese food . The worst Japanese food dinning experience I had so far. We ordered Katsu don Below picture it's no donburi at all. Just rice with cold water and soy source and bean sprout - like Korean quick fix out from the fridge when you are hungry in the middle of the night . We also ordered tekka don . It only came a few piece tekka and tons of white rice . No veggie at all . Nada . Just a few piece of tekka on top of rice ...I guess it's better than katsu don at least it's actually rice instead of water .... defiantly not going back and not recommend . I suggest owner and chef look up what is Japanese donburi if trying to serve it and call it "Japanese...
