I don’t usually leave reviews, but Sweet Revenge Bakery was such a disaster I feel like I need to warn others.
Let’s start with the owner—she is hands down one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I’ve ever encountered in any business. She acts like she’s doing you a favor just by letting you in the door. I made the mistake of giving some polite, constructive feedback, and she completely lost it—angry, defensive, and downright disrespectful. It was honestly shocking. She clearly can’t handle even the slightest criticism without flying off the handle, which creates the most uncomfortable, toxic atmosphere.
Then there’s the service—if you can even call it that. I was the ONLY customer in the store, and it still took them 15 minutes to make two simple drinks. No complicated orders, nothing special—just two basic drinks. How does that even happen when the place is empty? The staff looked lost and didn’t seem to care one bit. No apology, no acknowledgment of how slow they were, just pure laziness and disorganization.
The food? Completely overpriced and so not worth it. For what they charge, I expected something special, but the pastries were bland, dry, and honestly felt like they’d been sitting out all day. I’ve had better treats from a gas station. Charging premium prices for subpar food is bad enough, but pairing that with horrendous service is just insulting.
The whole vibe in the place is awful too. With the owner’s horrible attitude setting the tone, it’s uncomfortable from the second you walk in. This is supposed to be a bakery where you can relax and enjoy a treat, but instead, you’re stuck in this tense, negative environment.
In short, this place is a complete joke. Overpriced, slow, and run by someone who clearly has no idea how to treat customers. There are plenty of bakeries out there that actually care about their food and their patrons—this is definitely not one of them. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
Read moreIt looks like the donuts being discontinued had this place take a turn for the worst. It was on a downward spiral, but this last visit exemplified everything wrong with the place. If you're going to sit down here, do prepare for a daycare vibe as the owner/an employee keeps an infant around along with I assume are relatives. No idea the frequency of these occurrences, but it's good to note for anyone that's looking to dine in. An entire table is taken up when this happens, so that eliminates another seating area. Said owner/employee does not have an inside voice and lacks courtesy for projection so your conversation may very well be interrupted.
The food and drinks are officially subpar. They are clinging for a few months, but there seems to be major issues with the production. My coffee was below lukewarm, to the point where it was nearly room temperature. The pastry I got, despite being asked for being heated, came out nearly the same temperature as the coffee. With the donuts gone, there's really nothing to gravitate towards here. I wish I could say I will be reassessing the gelato...
I hope the Langley space improves on bringing in cafes that have a focus and put out good product. We'll see how long that takes since its patrons seem to be content with Starbucks and whatever overpriced pastry place already...
Read moreSome of the reviews here are incredibly silly. I came in to buy a strawberry short cake for my husband’s birthday. It was absolutely delicious and just the kind of premium cake I was looking for. As soon as I walked in I could tell this was a bakery that catered to vegans and people with gluten allergies as well. I’m not vegan and not a fan of vegan pastries so I’m not going to order it because I know I won’t like it. Some of the reviews seem like people who didn’t read, bought something vegan and then complained about the taste 😑 I’m sorry but that’s on you. To the person who complained about the price and said they could have gotten more from Deny’s 🤣🤣🤣 you had me rolling. The prices are listed, if you think they’re too high then go to Deny’s, no one is stopping you. I’m not going to compare a fine italian restaurant for example, with a pizza from Fresh Slice 🤣 that’s hilarious. Parking does suck, but I don’t see how the owner has any control over that. People do know we are in a housing crisis right? What do they think businesses pay for their location? It must be very high. And this is a small local business. That being said I still have to try more of their offerings, but staying away from the vegan stuff as I generally don’t...
