there has been a serious and VERY obvious decline in the overall quality of this place. i have been a frequent customer for two years, but will no longer be giving the time of day to this place because whoever is running it needs to shape up! as of the last month, me and a few other customers have noticed an abundance of issues, but here are a few of the most obvious. the cafe is always understaffed. it can get quite busy, and my heart goes out to all the poor young ladies who have to man the floor alone! as a manager, if you know you get good business, why sabotage that by only having one worker on for hours at a time? this place also does takeout and delivery, and watching ONE person try to balance in-person orders and takeout orders all at once makes me want to hop behind the counter myself. we have also noticed; the man who we believe to be the manager always brings his own friends in during peak hours and gives things away for free instead of helping his employees (or most of the time, ONE employee). if youre trying to better your profit and labour costs, which is clear by the understaffing, giving away inventory is surely not going to help. the quality of service and food has gone down as well, but it is hardly the baristas’ fault. how can one provide adequate service while also brewing coffee and making quality food when they are ALONE behind that counter? it is truly such a shame that such a lovely place has turned into what appears to be an attempt at...

Went here with my daughter on Saturday afternoon for a treat. We ordered two americanos, one iced and one cold with cream. Staff added the cream as per COVID safety protocols. We went to take a first sip and noticed the cream was bad. Took the lids off on both our drinks and noticed the cream was clumpy. I understand mistakes like this happen, but when we told the barista she said that the date on the carton meant the cream was still good and insisted that it was fine. When we asked if she could make us new drinks with fresh cream, she said she couldn't. We insisted that we wouldn't drink spoiled cream and would like the mistake rectified. She took several minutes to discuss with a colleague if they were allowed to remake us a drink at no cost. After about 5 minutes of back and forth they agreed to re-make our drinks. I don't understand in what realm of the food service industry you pressure your customers to be fine with consuming spoilt ingredients. I was shocked by the level of incompetence in customer service and I will not be returning here. At least at Starbucks I can count on consistently good product and service - the staff are...

The mark-up on their food is 95% and not even worth it.

They charge almost $9 for an avocado toast that is a thin and narrow slice of cheap bread and a small bit of avocado and a pinch of other toppings. It is not good quality, the portions are tiny, and the staff is rude. I'm a very soft-spoken and shy, and the staff made me feel like I was dumb. When I tried to call them later on it was impossible to get through, just kept going to voicemail. After several hours I was able to get through and on the phone the staff made it seem like I was in the wrong because I couldn't get through to them on the phone. I felt very uncomfortable and insecure in their establishment, and I don't suggest supporting a business that acts so entitled and greedy with their prices vs quality and portion sizes.

Coffee is fine.

In response to their reply:

Clearly management didn't even bother reading the review thoroughly if they genuinely believe I'm saying employees are in charge of menu prices. Great job taking zero accountability and deflecting th...

Unfortunately a cafe that’s been consistently going down hill for the last few years. Sandwiches, coffee, and donuts used to be incredibly fresh, filling, and delicious but not longer seems to be the case. Seemed to be smaller than usual espresso shot in a large iced latte. Glad I ordered it with extra ice otherwise it would’ve been every weaker and milkier than it was. The two feature donuts ordered were incredibly dry and hard with flavourless icing. Thankful that the staff switched them out for “toffee” and a “krispy cream” which were considerably softer and more flavorful. The “Gustoso” sandwich was dismal at best. 3 slices of salami with a few pieces of spinach and the tops of a tomato. They forgot the cheese, forgot to cut it in half, and it was barely panini pressed. Just a soggy, greasy, waste of $10. Perhaps there are other better options in store - it is a nice and clean space with decent inside and patio seating but likely wouldn’t go out of my way to return to find out.

I came to know about this place from a magazine in my hotel room about Surrey neighbourhoods. I checked out their website and knew I had to visit this place upon reading their menu description of their espresso. I love cappuccinos and it sounded like they shared this love. I went out of my way to check this place out. Was it worth it? For me, yes! A traditional cappuccino made with 49th parallel coffee, yum! The treats in the case and the food menu looked fantastic so I ordered the American - avocado smash, cream cheese, everything bagel seasoning on toasted sour dough bread. It was delicious. The perfect spread ratio of cream cheese and avocado. Food and cappuccino were made within reasonable time. Parking spots out for an easy run in on a rainy day. Plenty of spots to sit and enjoy your order. I will return to try to the lavender and honey latte!

This place is alright. We got the Mediterranean, The American (each with a poached egg), a vanilla latte and a PB&J Donut. Everything was decent but no wow factor. They don’t have a proper kitchen so everything is “prepped”. Price point is simply too high for the value. All of that cost $32. I could have paid that at a sit down higher end restaurant. The one saving grace is that they serve Parallel 49th Coffee. I don’t think I would recommend this place but they seem to be doing well with the people that want a piece of Vancouver in Langley. The donut was very mediocre and not worth $4! Service was surprisingly quick and they were nice. Overall, they need to improve their portions or their prices. Also the food should be prepared in the back room which has more than enough space for an actual kitchen.
