Texx Big Burger — Restaurant in Surrey

The food is really good and was a alternative to making it at home. I've been coming here probably 4, 5 months and I've always had a fine time but, today I had my first conversation with the owner. The owner asked the temperature out and I just answered him saying that it was cold and he said he liked it cold for playing soccer. He comments on the snow out east, I just said o' ya, and up north too right now, extra up in whitehorse. "Always snow up there." All I said was "yeah, when it doesn't, ya know somethings gone wrong!"

I didn't really think much of it and thought it was the start of a friendly conversation. He then says "We're in an iceage, always have been." My response was just "ahuh?"and he talks about not living forever "We're not gonna live forever, what do you want to live forever?" into "we gotta just make the best of things" Then he's talking about extreme terrorist' existence (S bombers) and how religon/government are powerful entities of control. (I'm not sure where he was going with this or why.) And i'm just sitting there waiting for my food. All I did was say I don't get that stuff either, I'm not even a little religious myself and somehow the conversation goes to "trump was just kidding about the 51st state thing, it gets lots of attention and taken out of context." followed quickly by "but it wouldn't be that bad, we'd at least keep our guns." all I said was "I don't really want that." (I like being Canadian.)

Then the topic shifted to gun ownership and "watch, they're gonna make a 44 too powerful to own." I asked him genuinely "are they actually trying to ban 44's? are 'they' doing that? you already need licensing for handguns." and I got a response of "IDK they probably are!" (I was thinking he heard something which was maybe why he was having this conversation with me?) He then explained he was mad that the Gov wants to take his AR rifle recently and won't give him the $ he thinks it's worth while also saying he doesn't ever use it and it doesn't matter. He seemed angry about licensing and etc. I asked if he was from america and he said he was from europe and that where he was from that these firearms were fine and how things were 20 years ago. My only comment was "I try not to own firearms like that." "I hear you, you just want market value if you gave it up."

It was a bizarre one-way conversation to have with me and it was the first time I ever talked to the guy, he wasn't mean, he was just really zealous about these topics and wanted to tell me about it. I don't know why, but I do know I don't want to chance a second encounter, it was really political before...

I had been wanting to go there for a long time as i have had a few friends tell me it was great food! Well i finally made it and i wish i had gone there sooner! Trust me i know what a Good Burger is cause i am Berger and everyone loves a Good Berger! Lol but seriously ive eaten many many Burgers in my life and honestly for a Burger from a restaurant that was the best Burger I have ever eaten and the price is right! Best Bang For Your Buck! I was going to order the Double Tex where its 2 chicken breasts and 2 burger patties, but i settled on the single instead. Trust me i could have eaten the double but i would have been really really full, instead the single was perfect for the first time i was there to allow me to enjoy the burger properly. The burger was massive and very generously proportioned and unlike most places where you have to pay pay pay for all the extra toppings you dont here at Texx you pay for the burger and can add what ever you want off the list that they have for toppings at no extra charge except if i remember correctly if you get extra bacon but o would never ever expect anywhere to hand out extra bacon free. Fries were great and well proportioned as well, if you go with only one other person you do not need to order anything bigger than the regular fries because of the portions amd the gravy was actually pretty good as well. Service was excellent and the staff were very nice and pleasant to talk to and deal with. Next time i will order the Double Mexx because i have to prepare myself for the 3rd time as apparently they have one of those food challenges where you finish the meal and its free i do believe but i completely forgot to ask about that, next time i go i will find out for sure because i will not only accept that challenge i will take down that challenge and absolutely destroy it. I have always wanted to do one of those challenges looks like i will finally get my chance! Berger vs. The Texx Burger Challenge coming up in the near future! Service: The man who helped us with our food was so nice! Definitely gives off the friendly mom and pop shop vibes!! The lady who was there as well also was awesome. Couldn’t make up my mind which sauce I wanted with the chicken so she gave me all three!

Food: Oh. My. God. I couldn’t decide what to order so my bf and I ordered a “little” of everything we wanted. I got a bacon cheeseburger which I thought would be a normal size burger (it’s not). Got some fries, poutine, and chicken strips. The chicken strips were the crunchiest most delicious chicken strips I’ve ever had. The burgers were so packed with ingredient and juicy!! Like this man did not go easy on any ingredients. Everything is delicious! I definitely recommend dining in so you can have the food straight off the grill! They also have specialty pop that is bottomless.

Value: The size of these burgers are insane. I saw another lady’s review complain about prices. But you get double if not triple the amount food here than anywhere else. The prices are like the other burger joints but the proportion is crazy. It’s like 4-5x the size of a normal burger. I didn’t get a proper photo of the burgers because we just wanted to eat it! I also only got the normal serving of chicken strips. There’s a “large” size. Can’t even imagine how much food that would be! Between my bf and I we spent about $50 but it’s definitely enough for 3 meals…

Definitely coming back here! The people who worked here are also so nice too!
