This place was once my favorite I've been more times then I can count. Relish so many good memories here and good appetite pleasing food. However in 2025 it's all changed. Today I was deciding whether or not to venture back here as an update on the reviews were showing what I feared most but didn't think was truly the new standard. California roll taste bad like really really really bad to here point where I I ate one and immediately after had to wolf down terriyaki sauce and ginger just to rid my mouth of the bad tasting fishy flavour which permeated the roll. I left it and later as the serve came by to ask how the meal was... I thought I should be honest so I told her sincerely what I thought expecting her to make things right by offering a new different roll that didn't have the same filling. But to my surprise she didn't even offer a new replacement for the same roll. She talked with the chef guy who complained in their native tongue and she relayed that it was the same as it has always been which it was not! So gross I'll be letting all my friends know this is no longer any establishment worth visiting. $20 for a unappealing meal. These bento boxes are normally around $14-16 at other establishments during lunch hour. They have no lunch specials either... Dingy dark and empty establishment, music isn't in English

Came here on the tail end of the dinner service. It was too late for all you can eat so we ordered off the regular menu. It was the Grand Opening day so they were still busy when we arrived just past 9pm. It had a quite vibrant atmosphere, and the decor was tidy and neat. The menu had a good variety. They offered all the usual favorites, and other items that are not so commonly found on other restaurants like takoyaki and korokke. The price was about average. The takoyaki had a good flavour and texture, but I wished it was hotter in temperature. It wasn't cold but just wasn't hot enough. The volcano roll had a very tasty creamy sauce which went well with a salad which it was served on top of. The salmon combo was quite good and had a good portion. We also ordered the green tea ice cream, which was quite tasty and had a perfect temperature/texture. All the dished had amazing presentation. I definitely recommend people to give this place a try, and I'll be back to try the all you can eat. **They offer 30% discount off regular menu items the first week of the Grand Opening, so come I'm quick and try their unique menu items**

The restaurant is not big, but it’s very clean and tidy. Don’t go there around lunch and dinner time, it will be lots of people there. You have to wait for a table. It has a lunch special. The price of Cali boxes and Dyna boxes are all under $10.00, which are very good deal. Besides that, there are so many sushi selections on the menu, but it’s a bit of hard to pick without pictures. Also, there is a special deal in the afternoon between 2-5 pm on the weekdays, where you get 10% off your entire meal. My boyfriend and I had a lunch at Sushi King George on Tuesday. Sushi King George is a brand new Japanese restaurant, located nearby Surrey Central Skytrain station. It has a great location, which is across a street from Sushi & Roll and beside Burger King restaurant. It opened since February 2017. At the beginning, the restaurant advertised as All You Can Eat. Because of customer issues, it had changed to normal order sushi, which caused many people complaining about its false advertising.

Good food to be sure, but their customer service is absolutely atrocious.

I had previously ordered Smoked Salmon Roll twice before and it never had avocado in it. If it did I never would have ordered it again as I hate avocado. I ordered it a 3rd time and when I get home there was cucumber and avocado in it. I called and they insisted that that particular roll always comes with avocado and cucumber and I tried to explain that the last two times I ordered it didn't have those ingredients. I heard the lady I was speaking with talking to someone else in the background, I tried to explain that if it had avocado either of the previous times I never would have ordered it again and I heard her say "oh he hung up" then she hung up on me.

I went back to ask for a refund and the head chef came out and asked what the problem was so I went over everything above again. He insisted that it always comes with avocado and they've been making them that way for 10 years. I don't doubt that but it doesn't change the fact that for me the other times I ordered it definitely didn't have those ingredients. Rather than apologize for having whoever was working the last two times making it wrong the guy just outright refused to accept that it was made differently before basically saying I was the problem rather than their inconsistent methods. He asked what I want done and I said I just want my money back and he told the hostess to go ahead and refund me while walking off in a huff. As I'm waiting for her to get my money he's throwing stuff in his work area obviously mad. Then he looks back at me looking at him and I guess me noticing him throwing a tantrum was a trigger for him because he came up to me again saying about how I shouldn't be looking at him like that and "do you want to go outside" was uttered a couple times.

Long story short, if these guys screw up your order they'll yell at you and imply a threat...

Im from Calgary and just visiting family here in BC! Decided to go for new years dinner at Sushi King George...the restaurant layout and atmosphere was great however the service was terrible. The beginning of our dinner was okay we ordered our food half the table got drinks while the others waited a little which was okay I understand they're a little busy and backed up. After we are done eating the first half of our meal (mainly soup and cooked dishes) we were told they ran out of salmon. After asking about salmon alternatives, it took about another 20 mins until they came back to tell us they were out of salmon alternatives as well. Salmon being one of the popular items I wish we were told earlier they were running low instead of 40mins in. At this point we weren't going to let this ruin dinner so we just ordered rolls. We also ordered Oyster Motoyaki as well where we even confirmed when first ordering there were two oysters in one order... anyone who had Oyster Motoyaki before I'm sure you paint an image of two individual oysters baked with creamy sauce on top. Later they brought out the plates that looked like creme brûlée as their Oyster Motoyaki. Seeing the number of people we had and we had order just enough that everyone would get their "individual" oysters. Considering we ask how many oysters were in one order I wish they would have told us that they don't use fresh oysters with the shell instead they use packaged oysters. Overall my experience with the food and service was terrible and the staff weren't even apologetic about it. When we bought up our concerns they said "oh" and brushed it off. Will not be going back and will not recommend it to anyone....

We have lived in the area for the past 5+ years and have always been loyal to Sushi King George, despite their frequent change of owners and menus, etc. Unfortunately, we have not had a pleasant experience the past 3 times we have ordered online. The first time we were missing a whole roll, but decided it wasn’t worth the hassle or our time to reach out. The second incident we had was we ordered online and when we picked up the order in store we didn’t realize the containers were not closed so we had sauce that leak all over the car. We were missing items that time again. We called the store and the women we spoke to hung up on us. When I called back, she acted like she had no idea about the conversation we were just having. In the end, the woman offered a “credit” for the next time we ordered not a refund for the missing items. So, we gave them a third shot and ordered again. Even mentioning the past issues in our order notes and asking them to kindly please double check the order is all there and that the containers are all fully closed. Unfortunately, we are not only missing multiple items, the chicken teriyaki once again leaked onto everything and fully through their takeout bags. Their was no acknowledgment of the past credit we had as well when we ordered like we were told there would be. We like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt and know mistakes happen, but unfortunately due to the lack of attention to orders and sincerity to correct order issues we will not be returning or recommending this spot to friends and...
