What I had: A spicy grilled chicken wrap/sandwich and a house salad (the sandwich said wrap but came on a long roll - what I would call a hoagie roll, being I'm from Philly area). The waiter provided a complementary baba ganoush with pita pieces to start off (yay!)
Thoughts: best meal yet in my couple weeks of travel in Alberta/Saskatchewan. I have travelled pretty extensively for 15 years and probably only had a handful of meals made with this much attention. Every ingredient stood on its own in quality and preparation
baba ganoush was creamy and topped with olive oil drizzle, green onion, paprika, and fresh parsley. Pita bread was thin and toasted perfectly
phenomenal bread for the sandwich as well, toasted and oiled just right (like the best of breads in NY or NJ), chicken was marinated in a middle eastern spice combination I personally can't define (it was excellent), the cabbage and peppers on the sandwich were slightly pickled and seasoned (mmmm), and and it was topped with a delightful spicy sauce.
the house salad is 50/50 romaine and garden vegetables (everything nice and fresh) tossed with olive oil, dill, some other spices?, and a cream sauce drizzle on top.
It was great. My advice: try it, take some friends, and get a variety of food to share because I think it's all gonna be awesome... Wish I had another day and some friends to do the same before I...

I managed to take a photo of the baba ganoush on my second visit, because the first time my husband and I were here a few days ago, we forgot everything except the food in front of us.
Seriously, this is some of the best food I've ever eaten.
I've travelled, lived in Toronto and Vancouver, and eaten countless excellent meals, but this is hands-down the best Lebanese cuisine I've ever had. We've tried the baba ganoush, hummus, dolma, falafel wrap, beef shawarma, and turmeric rice, and they were all divine. Even their drip coffee (and the cake we tried with it) was superb, but that could have just been the afterglow of the meal talking.
I could write about the food forever, but the meal aside: The atmosphere is warm and inviting, cozy without feeling crowded, and the family who run the establishment are so kind and welcoming. We felt like guests here, and our meals were obviously prepared with great care and passion.
I'm currently sitting in Montaha's in front of an empty plate, thinking about what I'm going to order...
Read moreI have just had one of the best meals of my life at Montaha’s Bistro in Swift Current. To begin, the owners treat you like family; the customer service was amazing. They work so hard and do quickly, you wish for them to have a rest with you! We ordered a platter with falafel, dolma, hummus, and baba ganoush. We also had batata harra (which I could eat 14 bowls of if given the chance). We followed up with the Lebanese BBQ of shish kabob and shish tawook. We also had a pistachio-cheese-cake dessert. We couldn't stop smiling as we devoured every bite. We sat giggling to ourselves that we were having this amazing food experience. I sincerely thank the owners for a meal and an outing with my husband that I'll...
