For the record, I never leave bad reviews. I usually try to praise, or leave it be, but this was ridiculous. My husband and I walked in to O.J.’s and requested to sit on the patio. The young man who seated us was very pleasant. He seated us and gave us menus. There were two other tables on the patio - a single woman, and then a larger group on the other end. My husband and I chose a table directly by the doors, so every staff member who came out to the patio area walked directly past us. We chose our meals very quickly (we’re familiar with O.J.’s menu), so our menus were closed and I guess physically you could say that we appeared ready to order. Shortly after we sat down, a waitress came out with a tray of drinks for the larger table (5 or 6 people). She didn’t interact with us whatsoever. A few minutes after that, another waitress came out to check on the lone diner. That woman asked for her bill, so the waitress went back inside. Again, no interaction with us. A while later, the young man brought out another couple to be seated on the patio. They joined the large group. No interaction with us yet again. The waitress came out and took the woman’s payment at her table. When that waitress left, she made direct eye contact with us, so she definitely knew we were there. She didn’t say anything, though. The restaraunt wasn’t even half full when we walked through to be seated, and the patio was empty aside from the parties I mentioned earlier, so it’s not like the staff was absolutely slammed. My husband and I sat for over twenty minutes without a single interaction with staff. Not a, “Your server will be right with you,” or, “sorry for the wait, I’ll be right back to take your order.” We didn’t even get a glass of water during almost a half hour of waiting. We walked out and went to another restaraunt. It was so...
Read moreTravelling to Manitoba, stopped in at this restaurant in Swift current.. had garlic parm crispy chips to start.. brought the order and they were absolutely not crispy.. mentioned it to the waitress Makenzie. She apologized and went to get some more. Manager Dillon came over apologized again. Makenzie brought the new chips, apologized again for the mistake and this time they were cooked to perfection. Then time for the main course. My wife ordered the ACE burger poutine. It came just as the menu says and it was awesome. I ordered the fish and chips with a side of gravy. With Xtra Xtra Xtra crispy fries opting for the crinkle cut as these ones are the best to cook crispy. Well fish was great but my chips were not. Not soggy but limp.. absolutely not even close to crispy . Didn't really want to be "that" customer.. and complain twice in one meal about something but the waitress did ask..lol. So I showed her, she apologized again. She promptly went to get some more cooked for me. Before my new fries got there I said to my wife, " I shoulda thought about that cause by the time my fries would be out my gravy will be cold. " A couple minutes later out come my Xtra Xtra Xtra crispy fries and an order of piping hot gravy and yet another apology.
Manager came over and apologized again and especially for having 2 things in one meal go wrong.
In my opinion you can always expect something to go wrong... what's important is how it's dealt with... in this case the Waitress (Makenzie) and the Manager (Dillon) really knocked it out of the park.. Two super employees that deserve kudos for their super customer service. This trip MB to AZ and back and without a doubt the best customer experience in every way the whole trip.
Long winded review I know but couldn't really do it in much less words. I'll...
Read moreI got the fish tacos with a modification to have no onion and sauce on the side (due to dietary restrictions). First off, the modifications came out perfectly! Although my family decided to move tables without asking (I know, a big no-no, but I couldn’t stop them) the staff were really polite and accommodating! And the food - I have trouble eating a lot of food due to IBS, but it was amazing and caused me no problems. I got the sweet potato fries with the dill dip - so good. The tacos themselves were the best I have ever had (in at sort of taco). They were messy to eat, but that’s just because they were full of amazing stuff. I honestly demolished them so quickly that everyone was surprised (I normally have a very small appetite). Just SO GOOD!! I cannot praise this enough. The only qualm I had was that, because of the (deserved) popularity, the inside was so loud it gave me immediately gave me auditory overload, so we sat on the beautiful patio, which was much quieter. The reason we moved tables was because the sun was shining in our eyes. If you want to eat amazing food with amazing service (but in a possibly loud...
