Food is decent but watch that parking situation very closely. The restaurant only has a specific number of spaces and if you park in a spot next to one of theirs and don’t see the private lot parking you will get stung with a $150 remove boot fee. There is a guy patrolling lots in around the back and even a 4 minute take out pick up temporary park will cost you. You then get to call to get the boot off and the guy tells you $150 to come and take it off. Cash only and if you ask for a receipt they charge HST. The best part is the receipt doesn’t even have a business name or HST number. Craig Boudreaux owns the lots and sits on the Chamber of Commerce in Sydney and he has Frank Campbell doing the boot removal (“Campbell’s towing” which I cannot find as a legit business) This was a Saturday night at 7:00pm. The whole thing feels like a total scam and there is no fine amount on the sign. Real slick, just like something you’d see in the back alleys of New York City. I did park where I shouldn’t have for sure but there was no other spaces. You have...
Read moreI was excited to try A Bite of Asia, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Pad Thai, and what I received was far from what I expected.
The dish contained exactly four tiny, dried-out pieces of thinly sliced chicken, which felt like an afterthought. Aside from that, it was just a bowl of greasy, flavorless noodles. The taste of oil dominated the dish, with only the faintest hint of spice or flavor buried somewhere beneath it.
It was clear that very little care went into preparing this meal. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Pad Thai, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This was, by far, the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. Definitely not worth the money. You can see I hardly ever write negative reviews, this is...
Read moreThe ambiance in this restaurant is great - very cute and cosy. The staff are very friendly, they were nice to us and I noticed the same attentiveness with others in the restaurant. The food had generous portions but was quite different than Thai food we’ve had elsewhere. The Tom Yum soup was okay, unfortunately the shrimp were very over cooked and it had rice noodles in it. The Pad Thai also had over cooked shrimp (although not as over cooked as the soup) and the noodles were cooked a bit much for this dish. The sauce was not like other Pad Thai sauce I’ve had - it was a bit bland but not terrible. All in all it was an acceptable meal. Another curiosity - the bottle of soy sauce said Kikoman but I’m pretty sure that it had been refilled with a...
