From the moment you walk through the door you can smell the flavours that will honestly make you salivate, it sure made me! This place feels like a home away from home, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, very good energy in this place. The music is soothing and interesting, really made me feel good to be in there. They have a few souvenirs while you wait for your food, I unfortunately could not eat in (but I’ll be back!) great staff that are friendly and welcoming, with a genuine smile and interest in their customers and their satisfaction. On my second time there for dinner, (in two days... I’m telling you it’s that good!) I ordered my dinner, as I waited I struck up a conversation with the woman serving me, this is a family run restaurant that cook HOMECOOKED LEBANESE FOOD!!! That’s right folks, homemade, and you can tell. From your first bite the flavours you just cannot get enough of dance in your mouth and make you want more. It was generously portioned, and I made sure I had every last bite. You can tell their food is cooked with love and from the heart, it shows in the way the food tastes and the way it’s prepared. Even though mine was a takeout dish, when I opened that paper brown bag, it was just perfectly presented; from the utensils to the presentation of my food, it wasn’t just thrown in a container, it was placed and prepared with the same attention to detail had I sat down and ate my meal in their “home” (because that’s what it feels like). As my food was being prepared someone after me ordered baklava, and as soon as she said she had more I knew I had to ask. I went to say something and she was already telling me she had put something in the bag for me. It was like she was reading my mind! Do yourself a favour... go try this place out, you don’t be disappointed. Whether you are a lover of Lebanese food or you are new to flavours of the world, take a chance on this place.
NO THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSED REVIEW, I just simply love them and knew I had to share my experience with others debating what to eat for food.
Also... BONUS they are open later than most...
Read moreA strong 2/10. This actually shouldnt even be placed under Lebanese food, everything J tried was tasteless? The portions are ridiuclously small (and no I'm not greedy), the chicken shwarma is a joke? Extremely dry chicken breast placed of dry rice and some sauce to liven it up? The pita bread for the shwarma was ice cold, they didnt even bother to warm it up? Next to nothing amount of hummus and I couldnt even bite into my fatayer? I tried to bite into it infront of my server and she replaced it with another one that was just heated up abit more than the first, thick hard pastry with almost no filling in the middle which was dry and crumbly , couldnt even recognise that it was chicken the way it was in tiny bits and pieces. Nothing was made fresh , just reheated? She brings me a coke with no glass to drink it out of? Sure as hell wasnt gonna drink from the can. Awesome traditional music that was blaring thatbthe server had to yell , overwhelming :/ everything about today sucked and I've wasted my money. You'd think with the cruise ship in town you'd bump up your service and quality of food in order to generate some revenue and good reviews. Dry, tasteless, nothing Lebanese about this...
Read moreAs a city boy from Toronto, I am quite spoiled. I am away on business in north Sydney, and I thought. I really need to find good food. I did a search, and to my amazement, I saw a Lebanese restaurant here with solid reviews. As an Armenian I was excited! I walked in, and was greeted pleasantly by Shady.
We talked a bit, and I began to order. I started with the Kibbeh, which was so delicious. then I had the Shish Tawouk platter, with the hummus, and fatoush salad. In the end a baklava, thank you for that Shady!
I cannot wait to go back and try the other dishes. Bamia (Okra), one of my favourites, and Lahmajoon, which is their fatayer. Hope to see you guys again before I head home!!! Must eat here!!
Thank you for taking care...
