Burrito Jax — Restaurant in Sydney

I got a small chicken quesadilla and had to wait a total of 20 minutes to get my order. No one had indicated where I was meant to go or even if I was to sit down or keep standing at the counter. After a few minutes of standing there and no one acknowledging me I went to sit down thinking the quesadillas came with a pre-set amount of ingredients and that they didn't need my input. 10 minutes later someone finally asked me if I would come pick out my veggies.

Got diced tomatoes, diced green pepper and corn and while all the veggies looked and tasted fresh the amount was not nearly enough. If I am to go back I'll definitely ask for extra veggies. I would have liked to have it a bit more toasted but that is pure preference. The chicken was well seasoned and not at all dry and I enjoyed the amount of cheese. The salsa looked homemade instead of the standard jarred variety usually found in such places. The portion sized for salsa and sour cream are generous and was more than enough for my small quesadilla.

The menu was a bit hard to read as the text is small and close together. That along with the background being plain grey with jpegs of food slapped in the corners made it look sloppily put together. The dining area while spacious leaves a lot to be desired decor-wise but I can see this improving as time goes on.

I visited at peak lunch hour on a week day, there was only 1 employee working. The menu board was not working but there was no offering of a take out menu or other ways to view the menu so I tucked to the side the review the website. I settled on the fish burrito bowl as it was advertised as a Grilled North Atlantic fillet, awesome. Confirmed with the employee that they had the grilled fish and ordered my bowl. He built my bowl base with me on the line while we waited for the protein. I few more people came in to order behind me so I stood at the grab section. My protein was added back in the kitchen then hurriedly brought over to me before the employee ran to move on to the rest of the line. I got back out to my car to discover that the “Grilled North Atlantic Filet” was actually 2 cold fish sticks.

If you’re a pescatarian stuck for a meal on Charlotte St and have to go here, just get the veggie option; the flavours are good, I just wish there wasn’t fish...

The SERVICE was impeccable! We went in the evening and there was one man working, he was busy with other customers orders and a few online orders. He was so incredibly nice to us and kept apologizing for the delay (we really didn’t mind!)

He was so kind to us. He went above and beyond for us as well.

I had a quesadilla and my husband had a burrito bowl and they were both outstanding! It all tasted very fresh and the meats were flavourful. And the fries?? Delish! We really enjoy Burrito Jax and we’ll definitely be back.

I don’t know if the man that was working last night was the owner or not, but we would come back for his service...
