My first ever 1* and hope I never have to do that again. For neither do I ever like that for any business nor my financial wastage. Ordered food for 3 hungry kids. From their lunch special combination to friedrice.. we had 4 set of items. Everything looked almost same and tasted really bad. Literally, the kids who would eat anything - were forcing it down to an extent where I had to assure them thats its ok to garbage the food if they really didnt like it. The only thing they liked was the fortune cookies that came with it. Fried rice - 2 types, Chowmein, Beef & Broccoli, Spring Rolls, Sweet & Sour Chicken and some ball shaped item that was covered in a red gravy... :( Off the lot - i could eat the sweet and sour chicken and thats it.. rest went off to garbage. Felt sorry for the money spent and for wasting food. But we had no other choice. I am feeling really sorry for this review. Disclaimer- as the kids too said, maybe its feeling so for only us. Maybe it was indeed tasty and would have had a different opinion from others. I can atleast assure that it was no where like the fried rice I had my whole life.

Ordered Szechuan chicken for New Year’s Eve and was absolutely DELIGHTED to discover that it is a similar (but BETTER version) of my favourite dish by the same name at another local restaurant… Breaded white meat with large chunks of fresh carrots, onions, and red and green pepper. All in a thick and very flavourful sauce, which isn’t very spicy in my opinion (some may find it spicy, I just found it flavourful) My partner got the #5 and also really enjoyed his! I will 100% be ordering again!! Happy new years :)

Hong fa is the BEST place for chinese food in Cape Breton as far as Hubby and I are concerned. Portions are great and the prices can't be beat!! Staff are ALWAYS friendly and accommodate you in every way they can :-)

The food from here used to be awesome! But now - worse Chinese food I have ever eaten! Waste of $100+! I would give it five negative stars if provided the option! Everything was bland and tasteless, soft to the point of mushy, and completely waterlogged! I mean SOAKED! The chicken chow mein, mushroom chow mein, and shrimp chow mein - nothing but water! The mixed vegetables in oyster sauce were so drenched they were floating in the tray! Even if you let the vegetables drain a bit before putting them on your plate, your serving of rice would literally be in a quarter inch deep layer of water on your plate within five minutes! All these items should have been called soup on the menu! I am sure these were made from canned bean sprouts and canned vegetables factory packed in water that were just dumped in a pan and heated up! The mushroom fried rice and chicken fried rice was hard and dry and I had to pound it apart with a fork to eat it! Must have been sitting for a long time to get to this state! The sweet and sour chicken balls and the pineapple chicken balls came uncoated in their boxes and with small containers of sauce not filled with enough sauce to coat all the chicken balls! Egg rolls were the only thing I could rate a bit higher! I've eaten a lot of chinese food over the years and from various places across Canada but this is the first time I've had Chinese food flavored soup! Really disappointing! Edible but just barely and certainly not really enjoyable! We definitely won't be getting our Chinese food from here again and I would not recommend...

Came in the restaurant waited 10 minutes till 2 older white chatty ladys came and they took phone orders while 4 others and i waited to be served. I Ordered beef and broccoli. Asked the lady to add spicey and her response was that's extra. Okay what ever. And does it come with rice? No that's extra. I said okay 1 rice please then I also Ordered 1 mixed vegetables and beef. Well the beef and broccoli was at least spicy and properly cooked not over done but the heck no beef or barely any looked like a ground beef type with 1 table spoon per entire order. Mixed vegetables was disgusting soggy and looked like soup with again Batley any beef mostly celery and green pepper and onion. Absolutely nasty Absolutely no flavor in any good way.

Well rice? None. Walked back inside asked her where my rice, napkins and cutlery was? Again stood waiting 10 minutes while the 2 lady's were chatting somewhere you could only hear them.

She says rude I didn't hear you say you wanted rice. Omg let remind you of our conversation about the rice and pepper is extra charge.

Oh and no napkins and cutlery on order out? With!!!

I would had never ordered there but all other Chinese restaurants near were away on holidays omg.

I guess as another province visitor it just sucked. Very disappointing experience with both shity food and customer service.

I told her since it's all so terrible I want my 10% tip back. She looked confused and I walked out.

Do notttttttt waste...
