Denny's — Restaurant in The Grange

This was our first experience at the new location on the Westend, and we were very dissatisfied with the service.

When we sat, we were placed in an empty section, and the restaurant was at 30 percent capacity. The time of seating was 5 pm on a Friday night and was not busy at all. When being seated, the host made an acknowledgment to our server, who acknowledged that she was placing us in the boothed section. At this time, we were given our clean, colorful menus, which have a variety of great options! After about 15 - 20 minutes and observing our server go to other tables and also go for a second round of coffee refills to other customers, she finally came over to our table and started with "I'm so sorry!". I expressed that "We are ready to order everything as it's been some time." At this time, we placed our order for one kids chocolate milk and two alcoholic drinks. The server then expressed, "I'm a minor and can't serve you alcohol." She walked away after expressing she will have another person take our drink orders.

3 minutes later, we had what I can only assume is the manager (female) come to our table and re take our drink orders, including the child's order again. 3 minutes after this experience, another manager (male) came by and expressed that they do not have the White Bacardi Rum that is featured in their menu and re-took my order as well as our child's chocolate milk order again. I asked for a pint of beer, and he brought me a bottle of beer and an empty glass.

This first experience of trying to order our drinks gave us unfortunate negative feelings about this Dennys establishment right from the beginning.

After receiving our food order, we noticed three absent options we ordered. My fiance ordered chicken with her cobb salad, the chicken was absent from the dish. My son ordered sausages and bananas with his pancakes, and these two sides were absent from the dish.

The overall food was delicious, and we were very satisfied with the taste, presentation, and promptness of the food coming out of the kitchen.

The manager (male) came by with a 25% off coupon for our next visit and apologized. The female server (minor) also apologized that she didn't see us. However, we were acknowledged by her when coming into her section at the beginning.

Waited for over an hour. It took 40 minutes to get an acknowledgement that we had waited a long time but nothing else. The priority this morning seems to be their Skip orders and not the people in the restaurant. Happy Mother's Day! You have never waited sooooooooo long. There are 6 wait staff on the floor, 2 additional table staff and a hostess in the front of the house.

After an hour and asking someone the status of our order, we received a bowl of bananas and a server saying, food is coming soon. Sorry for the wait. Zero attempts to make it up to us. I would not recommend this location. Skip it. Go to the Denny's on 178th Street. They will feed you in good time and make sure they let you know what is happening. This place doesn't seem to really care. The serving staff are just going through the motions. They mixed up the eggs on a basic med poached eggs and hollandaise on the side order. Got dried out looking fried eggs instead. Their philly cheese steak omelet was unappetizing in appearance and even less appealing in flavor. The breakfasts were absolutely underwhelming two eggs benny, and a two crepes breakfast. Worst Denny's I have ever been to.

Didn't seem to be a manager on the floor, or they also suffer from the same affliction as the floor staff. Their SOP for customer service is to lower the bar and do the bare minimum and hope you won't notice.

Their slogan should be:

"Denny's on Winterburn Road - where we couldn't care less about you, and you have never waited so long. "

Would not recommend this place. No compelling reason to return. Will drive the extra 10 minutes and go to the 178st....
