Newly opened Asian restaurant in Three Hills, Alberta, serving "home-cooked style" native Asian foods. All food is handmade and cooked fresh, even the ginger dip was made with fresh ginger! The food started to arrive in under 15 minutes and came to the table piping hot and full of flavour. I ordered the Pepper Chicken, Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. Spring Rolls are made with fresh vegetables and a crunchy wrap. Fried rice was flavourful and cooked to perfection. Pepper chicken was made with all fresh vegetables, the chicken was tender, and it had just the right amount of black pepper. Restaurant owner/cook was very friendly and took the time to make sure I felt welcomed without hovering. He has owned a restaurant in the past and is well-experienced. The customer service was amazing. He brought out some samples that he will be adding to the menu in the future. I can't wait to come back and see what is added to the menu over the next few months. The restaurant has their liquor license and will be adding different beverages to the menu. Price is reasonable and comparable to other restaurants in the area (especially since it's fresh ingredients). Food servings are large; I was unable to finish my order. There is seating for couples, families, and larger groups. There are also upper loft areas for private gatherings. Decor is fresh and new, and there is a large fireplace which will be lovely during cool fall nights and blustery winter days. I was thoroughly impressed with the service, quality,...
Read moreWe ordered for the first time the other night. The sauces are well made and the meat is well done but the portion sizes are insanely small! I got butter chicken for 18.99 and there was 5 peices of chicken, about 1/2 a chicken breast at best, and then rice and naan are separate... expensive for the amount you get. The taste was good, just expensive. I don't think the average family could afford to eat here very often especially since all your sides, which rice should be included in all curries and such, is extra. The vindaloo sauce was good but again, got prawns...there were 6 small shrimp. And reading another review with the same issue, the owner said it is because we are a small town and things are more expensive to buy, is false. No restaurant here buys their food from iga and we are only 45-60mins from all major food stores. I used to run kitchens and that is a poor excuse for excusing less...
Read moreWhat a fresh, welcome addition to the local area! I visited for the first time today. The owners have given the space an inviting, warm ambience. Enjoyed a tasty starter of mixed veggie pakoras, which arrived with a flavourful green mint sauce and tamarind chutney for dipping. For the main dish, I tried the paneer butter masala, with garlic cilantro naan and basmati rice. The chosen spice level was perfect, and the dish was rich in flavour. Fair pricing, generous portions, and easily equivalent in quality to my favourite Indian restaurant in Calgary. I noticed they are also open from 7 a.m. for breakfast, which has been a key missing component of the local dining scene for years. Bumped into a friend while there who had tried the breakfast for the first time, and highly recommended it. To top it off, my server gifted me a delicious mug of homemade chai tea. I will be back soon to enjoy more...
