Fox on the Run — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

I can’t speak about the main location. My experience was with the burger bar on syndicate. Orders for two people: burger + poutine, and a pogo + fries. Was gross. The oil they use for deep frying must be way beyond its change date. The fries came out almost black, it not a burned black. Black from old dirty oil. As was the pogo. Almost black. The bad oil left a horrible flavour to the food. The burger wasn’t bad, but just a frozen burger, nothing special. The service? The food, packed in standard foam take-out containers, was placed sideways in a paper bag, and handed to us sideways. So all the gravey for the poutine seeped out. Got home. Started eating, couldn’t stomach the fried food because of the grease. Went back with the food and, while the guy who was the supervisor gave me my money back, he was really rude and sarcastic about it, treating me like I was a jerk for telling him the food was not good. Food is delicious. Had the egg salad, tomato soup & my husband had the Thunder Bay stacker. My food delivered right away, my husband's stacker would be brought out "in 3 minutes". After 10 minutes asked about it. Sadly it was neglected and burned in the toaster oven. New one was made quickly. We basically ate our lunch separately. We later ordered 2 black teas and a brownie. We received 2 cups of coffee and a brownie. By now it was funny so we just drank the coffee. What isn't funny is the system of selecting a tip as you're paying for your meal BEFORE it arrives. We gave a 15% tip, but would have left no tip for this crummy service. It would have been nice if they offered a free brownie for the mistake on the sandwich & tea. I recently reviewed this establishment with 5 stars but after today I deleted it and rated it a 1 star. The gentleman who prepared my order touched and handled my wrap without gloves . He took my payment (cash) and touched his ipad up front .. I watched him rinse his hands.. without soap then again turned my wrap in the toaster and cut it with his full hand on top...i think anyone in the food business should be wearing gloves and not touching customer meals without them.
