This was my post a year ago....I've had alot of Thai food all over this is my favorite so far, just amazing flavors atmosphere and service it's busy for a reason....we'll this has to be an off day ? Nope! everything has changed since last post. No way ? read others posts. Place is trash now. Same reviews as mine. The peanut sauce was king before. I should have taken pics but the server was quick to leave and report to manager. He was not knowing of previous menu. An east Indian man telling me this is how its always been? Spice leve was off! ok not always going to please 100%. But argue that there peanut sauce is a yellow spicy curry paste? All I wanted was for them to know food was gross and much different. Hence why I asked if there were new owners. Broccoli was cheap, produce was cheap barely a Bean in the dish i had 34 mild was was my bum with ice pack days later ive alwsys ordered mild spicy but not from the swinging trees or no teeth bad bug soup chili heat! but pad tai had the same flavor Wasabi has, a ketchup surprise with scallions and peanut that try and fly. He asked how was it ? we asked if new owners? She wanted to try our peanut sauce. Said it was normal. Ummmm what? I am more mad because i loved this place. He could barely speak English or understand what my concerns were. I only said at the start , are there new owners? When asked why after how was it ? Well its diffrent sping rolls bigger with rice pape. Less ingredients... then we go to the pad tai.... no phil collins here ! its tasting like ketchup from a bottle.....? Like ive been so bold as a statement to think it could be an off night . Ha .when my yellow curry was watered down but infused with lava, terrible looking broccoli, but the icing on the cake was the famous peanut sauce. I will only.go back too take a picture to show you save your money now. Thats not peanut sauce... its a yellow curry paste. He went to manager apparently to acknowledge our concerns, to her... which did not approach us? Then we asked to speak and apparently she left? All so wierd! shethought it tasted fine...? I didnt want free food but a conversion with manager seemed possible with our calm approach. He was east indian she may have been french? But he got answers. ,quick to post regardless .she or the spot lost its care. I'm spending 75, sister 45 parents 75 wife spent my 45. I didn't want anything but the meal I once raved about.... so I work in a mine with many travelers I've spoke highly of this spot. This was not an off night. This is poor management buying terrible ingredients and serving subpar food. I support hard work and honesty. Not pinch and serve 0 love. So ya I tried rose Ta cuise were in the car they all wanted to go because there on uber eatswhere we tried and was amazed. But I said tai kitchen was boss. Welll it isn't save your.money and do.rose.tai cuisine I just read same comment 3 months ago .... read reviews place is trash now. So sad. Loved it. Pad tai sugars . Chef boy are tai prob make the old tai cry. Shame on the fact u think less is more except for that folgers but can u stare at with these dollarama decisions. The gargoyles curse in a no neck. Bad check. I wish you luck . But not even a scarf could pretend that's normal sitting on The shoulder of the straw.....woman? Either way Goodluck. My younger sister was on her way to work she said she'd take.hers to go even thought she also admitted it's diffrent to server she's a college nurse and didn't have much choice but he said he would accept hers back and remove from bill? So not only is it not good its also a condescending joke of well thers one that likes it. I want more reviews to be honest. I cant believe how sweet that pad tai was. I moved here fell in love with 2 things. Tony Danza and tai kitchen. I've learnt that he really wasn't the boss and tai kitchen needs...
Read moreI'm not sure if I should call that a Thai food, or was I expecting too much from this restaurant? I heard some good reviews from the locals and friends, so I decided to visit the Thai Kitchen with expectations that I would enjoy its food and ambience.
My response? Meh, I don't think I will be coming back.
Let's get started with some minor details. Okay, the interior design was alright, nice and bright. A bit too many Buddha statues, and kinda felt like religious artifacts are being utilized as just mere props. (Should we see tons of crucifix when we go to Italian restaurants? I'm not sure) Please, respect other cultures. Waiting time was quite long (kudos to the restaurant for being busy and having many customers), we can wait 20 minutes, sure. But the wait staff wasn't attentive at all and very disorganized in arranging seats for the customers. We sat down and took about another 15 minutes for them to take our order. It took another 20-25 minutes for us get the food. No water refill during meals, not a single checkup on food quality, and why does tipping option on card machine start at 15%, (I think 5% tip was enough for the waitress' work).
Okay, let's get down to the important part, food. We ordered Padthais and Spring rolls. First, Spring rolls were alright, warm, nice and crunchy. The temperature and the look of it intrigued me and got me excited until I cracked it open just to find oil and grease to overflow the bottom of my dish. The pork inside, however, the texture resembled that of wurst sausages. It was overflowing with grease and was difficult to eat without sauce. I hoped if they could put some more effort into food preparation so that I don't have to submerge my food in sauces.
As for the main dish, I wasn't sure if I should call that a Pad Thai. Thai-stir fry should not be a lukewarm semi-dead noodle drenched with grease. Yes, I understand stir-frying needs oil, but it was too much, and yes, it came out quite cold. Tofu in the dish retained texture like rubber. I understand that it was fried, and fried tofu can get hard. But I hoped if they diced them properly to keep the moist inside. I usually finish my food, but despite its small portion, I couldn't eat half of it. Oh yeah, and it was too expensive for its quality. Overall, I didn't have a good experience.
So please, Thai Kitchen, listen to...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience at The Thai Kitchen
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at The Thai Kitchen, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, I had a feeling something wasn't right.
Let's start with the noodles. I ordered a dish that had noodles, and to my dismay, they were like mush. They were overcooked to the point where they lost all texture and became a gooey mess. It was incredibly unappetizing and made the dish almost inedible. I couldn't understand how a restaurant specializing in Thai cuisine could get something as basic as noodles so wrong.
To make matters worse, the food at The Thai Kitchen tasted like chemicals. I couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was, but there was an unpleasant and artificial taste to everything I tried. It was as if the dishes were made with low-quality ingredients or excessive use of artificial flavorings. It left a lingering aftertaste that was hard to shake off.
Not only was the food disappointing, but the service was also subpar. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. It was challenging to get their attention, and when we did, they were unhelpful and lacked basic knowledge about the menu. It felt like they didn't care about providing a pleasant dining experience to their customers.
The ambiance of The Thai Kitchen was nothing to write home about either. The restaurant felt outdated and lacked any charm or character. It was dimly lit, which only added to the overall gloomy atmosphere.
In conclusion, my experience at The Thai Kitchen was extremely disappointing. The noodles were like mush, and the food had an unpleasant chemical taste. The lackluster service and unappealing ambiance only added to the overall dissatisfaction. I would strongly advise against dining at this establishment and instead recommend exploring other Thai restaurants in the area for a more authentic and...
