Warning: Ripped off on poutine

I ordered a jumbo poutine with extra cheese curds, ((Quebec style)), and they put real cheese curds on top, but they put regular much cheaper mozzarella cheese in the middle. Cheese curds do not melt in a stringy way one foot long strings as you grab it with your fork, no way.

I know cheese curds very well, and these people definitely mix them to save a lot of money. However, this is my last junk Poutine from them. I once owned a restaurant and at the time, a 2 kg bag of real cheese curds cost $60.00, and a 2kg of cheap junk mozzarella cost $20.00. That's why they mix them.

I’m very insulted. I’ve had hundreds of poutines with real cheese curds in my life and I assure you that real cheese curds do not melt like that, regardless how hot it is. This is a complete rip off and the last time they rip me off. I called the store, but the young lady insists they don’t mix the cheese and she had very poor customer service, like she didn't care one bit I was offended and not satisfied at all.

I told her very plainly that real cheese curds do not melt in that way and I know they mix them. I don’t even like poutines with regular mozzarella, so I'm very disappointed and I should have been offered a refund, or some type of credit. I always order poutines with cheese curds and I could absolutely tell the difference.

Also, the driver forgot my two cans of seven up, not sure who's fault that was, but he had to go back and get them, and I was almost done eating my fake poutine by the time he got back.

(2024) Extremely sketchy location, don’t go here alone if you go at all. Gone down hill over the years. Even posted up this awful photo board. All stores experience thefts, but that doesn’t mean you should put up their pictures and make your store look sketchy. The staff doesn’t know customer service, just goes on their phones and doesn’t communicate. If the place looks like this, I can’t imagine the food safety is much better.

Update summer 2025: The photo board has since been removed and there’s been a tiny bit of clean up. Instead of replacing menus they just scratched out the stuff no longer there with a blue pen. Staff was not friendly, miserable really, and did not help customers with the line up, saying nothing when others would try to cut the line. They removed card payment at the take out station too, so everyone needs to line up at the main cash. Still needs work but it’s cool they acknowledged how sketchy it was and...

Salty gravy, large portions, lukewarm customer service.

We pre-ordered online and received the email with the balance to be paid. Went in with our credit card and were advised they round up the price on electronic payments. [Might not be a lot on each individual order, but that sort of gouging will add up over multiple visits and multiple customers!]

Guy made a big deal about matching the price quoted in their confirmation email.

Servings were big with a lot of cheese curds, but gravy is very salty.

There is also a highly creepy wall near the cash with a bunch of images from what appear to be security cameras and with pen over peoples features.

Not sure what's up with that place, but we won't...
