The Hollinger House Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Timmins

Came in here excited to try the desserts that google raves about. I was disappointed to find plastic wrapped, basic dessert bars that are store bought and re-wrapped. They did have fresh cinnamon buns, samosas, and sausage rolls. The meat in the sausage roll was so flavourful although the pastry was quite hard on the outside. The cinnamon bun was warm, gooey, and dense. The texture was amazing but the flavour was off for me. It was missing a cinnamon flavour and gave off a rum raisin flavour tone. I was anticipating a gooey, sticky caramel or toffee flavour so was disappointed...

Lovely little place w/ a kind staff and a wonderful selection of baked goods. We saw everything from Bread to Cookies to Cakes to even Flour itself. There are also lunch items such as sandwiches, sauage rolls and various salads, ETC; that can be ordered from the Deli at the back of the store where the lunchen meat is sliced. 5/5 stars from both my boyfriend and I. I'll be honest, it's hit or miss on who makes your sandwich, if you're getting sandwiches. The older lady is spot on 99% of the time, the younger/newer associate has a tendency to mess up about 2/3rds of my orders.. And I only find out when I get back to work with my food if she messed up, which is unacceptably often.

Otherwise, food is on point. Tuesday/Wednesday are the best...
