I have been a costumer of Babos for a very long time. The food is great and have no complaints about it. The taste of their dishes is amazing. However, I was very disappointed after my experience buying food for take out during covid-19. Once I got into the restaurant with a mask on, being mandatory now in the city of Toronto, I was welcomed with anger. The first thing the guy behind the counter said is âwhy do people wear masks?â. He was very angry because I was protecting myself with a mask. I asked, how come you are not wearing a mask? ( knowing it is required while working or being inside a store). He was even more upset with my comment and proceeded to put a mask on. I explained that he didnât have to put it on if he didnât want to. He kept it on anyways. He continued complaining how covid is a hoax. I guess I am disappointed on how he, as a business owner, is not understanding of other (customers ) perspectives.    Read moreA local gem! This place, a little rough around the edges, is worth a stop in if you are walking or driving by. Affordable, fast (usually), great portions, and delicious. The doner (beef or chicken ) is really very tasty, the rice is great, all the sauces awesome. A few items to comment on: We tried the Iskender and it was really unique and delicious, the sauce on top was rich and creamy and meat very fresh (do note: the description says "hot tomato sauce" they mean heated not spicy, it's just great savoury dish to share with bread). We tried the Bourek (spinach and cheese) and it was phenomenal and unique as well! It was like a spinach and onion quesadilla on pita instead of tortilla. Really yummy, worth a try. Falafels were great, though I don't know if they were hand-made. The kids devoured them! We also ordered the shish-kabob on the Doordash app, but I think it was shawarma/doner meat. On Babos own menu they don't have shish-kabob, so perhaps an error? So, not a simple, plain shish-kabob if you are looking to feed a...
