Last year I ate at this restaurant a few times & enjoyed their cod dinner & their chicken. This year I went & was hoping to get their salmon or cod again. Neither were available so the only thing that looked appetizing was the lasagna. I ordered a large beef lasagna, which was supposed to come with 2 sides, according to their menu. I was only given 1 side option which I selected a salad. Their Italian dressing is very good. The lasagna is very different from what I'm used to. It was very greasy. I was surprised to find bell peppers in it. It had very LARGE slices of mushrooms which honestly could've been cut smaller. The staff didn't seem to be as friendly as last year. They stopped accepting MasterCard (debit & credit) along with American cash. I explained to her that I ate her last year multiple times & paid with this same MasterCard. She said that she could do it on another machine but there's a 20% or 27% fee. They do have a sign posted saying cash & debit cards only. It needs to be updated to...
Read moreWe generally have no major complaints about this place, but we felt pretty ripped off this Thanksgiving. Our oven wasn't in full working order, so we opted to order a ready-made turkey to go. We called a few days ahead, explaining how we'd need to feed 7 or so people. They told us they'd have a 6kilo turkey that would be adequate for $60.
When we picked it up on Sunday, it barely weighed 7 pounds, looking half the size that they had mentioned.. and they still had the audacity to charge us the full $60. It was highway robbery! We were lucky to have prepared a great deal of side dishes and alternative meat items.
Furthermore.. it was super dry, and tasted ok. Wasn't a fan of the orange zestiness to it. We won't be ordering here again. The bbq chicken is good here, but I wouldn't rank it in my top 10 in Toronto. Portuguese Churrasqueiras are a dime a dozen...
Read moreThis place is under new ownership/management. The chicken is bland and not as delicious as before. The new owners drove the prices up and it is so expensive and not worth what you get compared to previous owners. The last time we went in to get food there was flies absolutely everywhere, on the ceiling, on the walls, on the food. It was disgusting. When mentioned to one of the workers, she waved over the food and that was that. Absolutely disturbing. Cleanliness, food safety, taste and price completely ruined by the new owners. Such a shame as this place was a staple in the neighborhood and for our family for such a long time. We’ve taken our business to Tavora on St. Clair. Edit: does freshness of products include flies to you people?...
