3.5 stars overall. Service and space is a 4 star experience though!

Propeller Coffee is a local coffee roaster and from trying various cafes around Toronto, I've found their single origin bean to be a growing favourite. This particular location is hidden ... you would never think that down a gritty industrial road would have this little gem of a coffee spot. The space itself is a modern loft like space with a nice vaulted ceiling and a large space. It's so large that they rent out this spot for special events including weddings. I've tried to come here twice before only to find it closed early because it was booked for a wedding.

Service here was a notable stand out. They have a lot of beans available for purchase. I knew I liked some beans but I had no idea which ones to choose. The barista took the team to come around from counter and helped us figure out which beans best matched the flavour profile I loved. She even explained a bit about the regional bean profile so I could be better exploring more beans if that particular one wasn't exactly what I wanted. This was just really great.

Flat White - The pretty latte art adorned a quickly made cup. The price point was very favourable. The bean they used was Ace and it certainly wasn't bad but I found it more acidic than I like. It had a bit of a light body and a fruitier note than I was expecting. To a person who isnt used to espresso based drinks, you may find this a bit more sour than you're used to. Overall, a good solid drink. 3.5/5

We did end up buying Brazil Monte Alto beans and it was much closer to what I liked. So I think next time I'm here, I'll probably try a pour over instead or see if they can grind up some other beans for...

What is so great about this place? I don't get it why so many people gave them 5 stars. I went there accidentally yesterday. But I knew they've got good reviews a lot. So, I thought I can get proper service but not. I asked like "You guys have an iced coffee?" before I place my order. She said "Yes" so I ordered ICED COFFEE. I was wondering while I wait my order. Why is it taking so much time? Iced coffee should be ready to serve right away(Coz, I knew most things about cafe. I used to work at several cafe for 6 years). Then I noticed. She was making an ICED AMERICANO not an ICED COFFEE. I guess everybody someone who loves coffee knows what is the difference between ICED COFFEE and ICED AMERICANO. She does't have proper knowledge of coffee. Or she made me mock of me? Like, oh probably this guy doesn't know what's difference between them. Even I don't need to explain this Asian guy. Like this? And they charged for $3.5 "ICED COFFEE" what they called. The location isn't face any big street or avenue. There located of perfectly back street. Wow what a overcharged "ICED COFFEE" they sell. What is the brand, huh? Get the proper knowledge n do right explanation each customer. Anyway, this is one of worst cafe in Toronto. I'm not gonna introduce this place on my blog...

My partner and I held our wedding at Propeller Coffee and we couldn't have been more pleased. The space is super cool and the staff are fantastic. Special shout-outs to Kristi (our main contact throughout the planning process) and Jen (the event supervisor day-of). Also - the preferred caterers were fantastic and we never felt pressured to spend more $$ than we intended.

Kristi was responsive to all of our questions and also shared lots of candid information based on her experience hosting other events in the space. She also went above and beyond to help one of my guests (who was attending from out-of-town with a 8 month old baby) find a space to set-up a sleeping zone in one of the adjacent spaces.

Jen was an incredible event supervisor. Not only was she present and available for our many questions and requests, she was proactive, calm and helpful. We had two hours to prepare for the wedding with a lot of decorations to set up; at times it was a bit frantic. Jen was able to calmly support us while still being efficient and effective. She was invaluable; Propeller Coffee is lucky to have her.

All around I would highly recommend Propeller Coffee Co. as an event space to anyone looking for a unique venue in the city.

ALSO - their...

If you’re looking for a comfortable coffee shop to work on your laptop, this is it. They have large tables, allowing people to spread out. The ceilings are tall, and the space is wide open (converted warehouse space) so noise is not usually an issue from the people around your table. The coffee is strong, robust, slightly acidic, however nothing memorable. They do have food, and pastries. Again, nothing that really stands out. They also feature a room where they make coffee and new flavours. Overall, the selling feature is definitely the space. The few I’ve been here, it looks like people park themselves with their laptops and headphones for several hours. You’re definitely the odd one out if you just want to have coffee and chat. At least that’s how I feel. I would not bring your kids here. Also one added bonus is that they have free parking!

Propeller Coffee in Toronto is an incredible, not so obvious wedding venue to work at! The space has a modern, industrial vibe with plenty of natural light, creating a stunning backdrop for wedding photos. The open layout allows for creativity, and the minimalist decor lets each couple’s unique style shine through. The venue’s combination of exposed brick, high ceilings, and cozy details makes for beautiful, warm, and intimate shots. The staff is fantastic—super organized, friendly, and accommodating, which always makes the day run smoothly. For couples seeking a trendy, urban space with a welcoming atmosphere, Propeller Coffee is an amazing choice! Highly recommend!

Place was rad! Good amount of seating and very spacious. Coffee was probably some of the best in the city. If only there were more throughout Toronto. Good options for coffee and friendly baristas. Had the privilege to talk to their roaster and get more insight to their company. If you're just visiting or a local, please support these guys! They're going a great job and have so much passion for coffee and community. Everything is reasonably priced and I got a Tanzania pour over along with some Burundi beans. Pour over was made on a Kalita Wave and came out clean, rather tea like with notes of cocao, peach/raspberry, and a grapefruit/citrus finish. Solid cup!
