I have been a loyal follower of this bear steak on Instagram for over two years, and I can't believe how much I regret missing out on their pop-up in their backyard, but ever since I finally made it to their shop, I've been hooked. In fact, I find myself visiting twice a week because this place serves the absolute best steak sandwich I have ever tasted!
Let's talk about the star of the show: the flank steak. It's incredibly juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. The moment you take your first bite, the flavors burst in your mouth, and you can't help but savor every moment. The steak is so well-seasoned and cooked just right, ensuring a melt-in-your-mouth experience that leaves you craving more.
But what truly takes this sandwich to a whole new level is the homemade chimichurri sauce. It's a match made in culinary heaven! The vibrant flavors of the chimichurri perfectly complement the succulent steak, creating a symphony of taste that is simply irresistible. The sauce adds a delightful freshness and tanginess that elevates the overall experience, leaving you longing for every last bite.
The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of their steak sandwich. The bread is always fresh and perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crunch that contrasts wonderfully with the tenderness of the steak. The generous portion size ensures that you leave feeling completely satisfied, yet still eagerly anticipating your next visit.
IF you're a steak sandwich LOVER like me, Bearsteak is an absolute gem that you cannot afford to miss. From the juicy and tender flank steak to the mouthwatering homemade chimichurri, every bite is a delightful explosion of flavors. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. Trust me, once you've tried their steak sandwich, you'll find it difficult to resist coming...
Read morei am sad to say that i was kind of disappointed by the sandwiches here â youâd think they wouldâve really PERFECTED it since itâs so popular, but i feel like it couldâve been much yummier. also they didnât have dessert so i was sad đ
i actually very much preferred the fries over the sandwich (even though the fries are definitely not mindblowing, they were still really yummy). the texture was kind of like five guys fries, where the structural integrity was kind of soft and floppy, but certain edges of the exterior had a light crisp to it. they were also seasoned very saltily (as was everything else â this was a very sodium-heavy meal), but the beef tallow gave it a kind of mellow, deeper flavour. i really liked the chimichurri mayo that came with it â it was also VERY SALTY but was a bit tangy (i also liked dipping the sandwich in it).
the sandwich as i mentioned before, was kind of disappointing. although the bread was really soft and had crispy toasted edges, the meat was a bit chewy/tough (although it had a moderate amount of fat that gave it a rich flavour) and also kind of cold..? even though everything was served fresh, it wasnât hot or anything. the fresh chimichurri taste was very prominent, covering every bite and crevice of the bread, and it was even a little bit spicy with its peppers.
the burger was also meh â i only had a bite, but my impressions were that the patty was really thick and beefy (which was nice), and the onions were crunchy and sharp, but the sesame bun was too dry and since there werenât many other toppings, the breadiness was kind of overpowering. it felt like a âstaleâ, store-bought hamburger bun from the supermarket.
there was also no seating â just a small âbenchâ area right next to the road that can sqUEEZE three/four people max (if you...
Read moreIâve spent my life on a sacred quest for the perfect steak sandwich. My personal holy grail involves a juicy, medium-cooked steak, sliced and lovingly laid to rest with sautĂ©ed onions, mushrooms, and a blanket of melted Swiss cheese, all brought together by a whisper of mustard on a perfectly crisp sourdough baguette. This, my friends, is the benchmark by which all others are measured.
Then I came to "Steak Sandwich Kings."
Iâve been here three times now, a glutton for punishment and a believer in second, and apparently, third chances. Each time, I hoped for a revelation, a moment where the "king" would finally ascend to his throne. Instead, I got what felt less like a sandwich and more like a high-stakes, dry-land survival exercise. The Portuguese bun and the steak itself were fine on their ownâa solid C+ effort. But together, they were a match made in the Sahara. This sandwich needed a beverage more than a person lost in the desert needs water. The ultra-salty chimichurri didn't help; it was less a topping and more a condiment that had decided to actively work against my taste buds.
And let's not even get into the meat lottery. One time it was so fatty and chewy I felt like I was in a wrestling match with my lunch. Another time, it was surprisingly tenderâa fleeting moment of hope that was immediately crushed by the overwhelming dryness of everything else.
I just don't get it. How are they "Steak Sandwich Kings?" Are they ruling over a kingdom where everyone is chronically dehydrated? Perhaps I'm wrong, and this is exactly what a true steak sandwich should be, and my lifelong quest has been based on a lie. But until then, I'll be back on my journey, leaving this kingdom behind in search of a juicier, more...
