Read moreI used to love this place, but had a mixed experience yesterday when I stopped by.
Let me start off by saying that I was one of their earliest customers. I live in the neighborhood and was so excited when I saw that a Turkish delight store was opening up - because I simply love Turkish delight. The shop was lovely, the variety of 'TD' was wonderful, and the prices were pleasantly reasonable. I've even bought gifts for friends from here.
Yesterday, I walked in and everything was still lovely, but when he rang up my bill for 4 pieces of baklava, 8 small cubes of TD (not the typical larger size that I'm used to from here), and a regular sized latte, the bill came to $45. I was shocked and asked, "Is that right?". He said it was. I just couldn't believe that I paid that much for treats.
I don't consider myself to be very price sensitive when it comes to independent shops like this, but I couldn't help but feel completely ripped off when I left the store. Even now, I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around how everything came to $45 and I feel kind of bad for spending that much on what was supposed to be a small weekend indulgence for myself.
If the prices have jumped this much, I can't let myself reasonably make LL one of my regular neighborhood jaunts. I now view it as a delightful and expensive specialty shop for out-of-neighborhood visitors. Good for the visitors, but disappointing for me.
That said - I highly recommend, but be...

A nice spot to people watch if you sit downstairs.
Drinks were delicious however we waited a very long time for them to arrive. I don’t know why as there were only 2 other tables and we got cold drinks which are quick to make. We weren’t in a rush but had to follow-up as we weren’t sure if they’d forgotten.
We ordered a bunch of Turkish delights which also took ages even though they’re literally sitting at the counter and already cut up, ready to merely place onto a plate. The Turkish delights were luckily not too sweet and it was nice to try different flavours. There is a huge variety of flavours.
Quite a pricey place but it’s a nice place to treat yourself or catch-up with people and it’s more peaceful than other cafes.
Friendly staff who were a bit too “helpful” - the lady at the cashier just stared at us in the eyes as we were browsing flavours and didn’t seem to want to let us browse first before ordering, which was very off-putting. She seemed to have good intentions, so didn’t say anything.
It seems like there are staff at the back who make the drinks, but the cashier could have helped out and provided some of the Turkish delights whilst we were waiting for the drinks, since she had nothing to do.
Overall, I’d...
