This is a new Korean styled cafe at Yonge-Sheppard that opened 2 months ago and you can tell they put in the work to make this place very aesthetically pleasing. Not sure what was in this space before but they’ve made it their own.
There are about 40 seats here where groups of 1-7 can sit and dine. They have an extensive drink menu with both espresso based drinks, tea lattes, non-caffeinated drinks, as well as Korean based drinks that I haven’t really seen at other cafes I’ve been too. They also offer Sloane Teas here!
This is a laptop friendly space, the wifi is strong and there are outlets everywhere. During the day on weekdays they don’t seem to be too busy (at the moment) but I heard the evenings and weekends it can get busy. They have a 2hr seating limit, though i don’t believe they really enforce it unless they are busy and people are waiting for tables.
It’s rare to find a place with good coffee, aesthetic decor, that is laptop friendly with reliable wifi. I can see this place being really popular with students or remote workers (like me)
I recommend the Dalgona Latte, the Injeolmi Latte, strawberry latte, and their roasted hazelnut latte! I also love the Nutella bungeo-paang, they actually make these to order! I also tried the yang-nyum tteok-kochi and it was pretty spicy, they let me know you can ask for less spice though so I’ll definitely do that in the future.
The drinks are on the pricier side but the quality and flavours really hit the spot! Definitely will try their bingsu over the summer!
Other things to note: -There is public parking behind the building if you’re driving. They even have an designated entrance from the parking lot to their cafe so you don't have to walk all the way around to their street entrance! -It’s not wheelchair accessible since they are on the second floor. -At the time of writing, they don’t take AMEX, I believe only debit, visa, Mastercard, and cash.
Check them out if you’re in the area, you...
Read moreA great discovery in North York, hidden on the 2nd floor of a building where the retail front right below is Pizza Maru. A rather steep staircase leads up to a cute, quaint cafe, bustling with people. A hidden gem where the locals go.
We ordered a Mango Bingsu and a Pistachio Bingsu. The mango was a little too sweet for me but perfect for my friends. The pistachio hit the right spot, it was simple, not too sweet but full of crushed nuts. It had the chewy rice cake with injeomi powder as the “cherry” on top. The bingsu serving was the smallest I’ve ever had anywhere in the world but I’m not complaining since flavour wise, this bingsu was perfectly creamy and light.
We also had the carrot cake which was way better than I expected. It was freshly baked, moist, not too sweet, 3 layers, the cream cheese icing was just right, not too thick and not too sweet and the walnuts were in bigger pieces than the usual. I couldn’t ask for a better carrot cake.
The blueberry sconce was full of blueberry goodness (real fruit) but it was a bit dry.
Service was excellent, the server helped us get a table for 4, she was helpful, attentive, patient and super friendly. She made us feel welcome and comfortable.
Price wise, it was a bit high but I feel it is justified because of the great service, excellent quality of food and drinks, plus the interiors were clean, neat and decorated quite well. Not too fancy, more of a perfect combination of modern comfort, quirkiness, young hip vibe and fun character.

Read moreWent at around 11 am on a monday for a coffee with a friend. The place just had one other group sitting there. I ordered an Americano which cost around 6 dollars but my friend didn't want anything. They asked me takeout or dine in so I said dine in because I wanted to reduce waste and it was going to be quick. They brought the coffee and then came back immediately and said we have to order something else because it's one order per person. So why didn't you tell us this when we ordered and said dine in? Why tell us after we've ordered, sat down, and you've already brought our order? I'd understand if the place was busy but it was empty. So I asked for a takeout cup in the end and poured the coffee in it and left. This is a great example of how NOT to run a business. Empty place but you're enforcing your rule after trapping us. You lose a lot more now because none of us are coming back again and will advise others to do the same. The rule should be made clear BEFORE we sit down and say dine in. Also, for 6 dollars, it was one of the worst coffees I've had. Tasted like hot water. While I'm writing this, on a previous occasion, I've had their bingsu and it was attorciously expensive for the...
