WORST restaurant experience EVER. Which includes both horrendous food and harrassment by the waiter. Our group ordered a meal (picture attached) and it was mostly fat, bones and near zero meat (attached in the picture). It was just scrap meat left overs that were simply not edible. Considering the meal cost $45 and was inedible, we voiced this concern to the waiter. The response from the waiter was very disrespectful as he would not listen to our genuine concerns and rather spoke to us in a very aggressive and condescending tone of voice. He would simply not accept our feedback and kept on blaming us for not understanding the dish.
The dish picture looked completely different from the one on the menu (zero meat and all bones - see picture comparison). It was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, as the waiter was harrassing us. His tone of voice and language was so aggressive I was afraid for my safety, with the real fear of him violently attacking us. As I corrected him on how to pronounce "collagen", which was his justification for the dish having all fat, he commented that that was an "an Indian way of saying it" (even though I clearly wasn't). Considering we were in a restaurant with nearly all Korean people and very less ethic diversity, this was obviously a racist comment. We immediately called him out on his comment and how it was racism, and asked for the manager (TK). We refused to leave the restaurant until the manager arrived as this was such a horrible experience. When TK arrived and listened to our concerns, he didn't take the situation very seriously. What surprised me the most was that TK didn't even offer to replace the meal or solve any issues, rather he asked us for solutions to the problem.
After our request eventually TK asked the waiter to apologize to us, but half heartedly did and didn't truly own up to his mistakes. He claimed that it was a "misunderstanding" This place really needs to improve its customer service and quality of food. Train management and staff accordingly and if a customer has a concern over their food item, place take their concerns seriously, they are giving appropriate feedback. It also needs to be more accepting of people from different backgrounds.
This is the worst ever restaurant experience I've ever had in Canada living here for over 24 years now. Training your staff and conducting behavioral interviews to understand who is the right fit for a customer service role is important. I highly recommend the owner reach out to me if they do get a chance. Honestly, I should have called the police on this incident as it was incredibly outrageous. Will never come...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. This place has been my WORST restaurant experience EVER! Me and a few of my friends arrived on Friday evening. We were seated immediately and told we could only stay in the restaurant for 2 hours. I ordered the Kimchi fries without the meat (I am a vegetarian). One of my friends ordered a seafood dish and my other two friends ordered the "Half and Half Jokbal" to share.
The server was probably the rudest and most arrogant server I have ever seen. Two of my friends who were sharing the "Half and Half Jokbal" mentioned that the food was not edible as it was just fat. There was no actual meat in it and it did not look anything like the picture posted on the website. After bringing this up to the server, he immediately started becoming defensive and told us that it was our problem that we did not like the food. He was being eristic and was unable to take criticism. I have never seen any restaurant server incapable of accepting criticism from another customer. We just wanted a replacement dish or to be compensated in another way but received unprofessionalism instead.
We were told by the server that the fat were were referring to was actually "collagen." My friend did not initially understand what the server was saying because he pronounced it differently and when my friend corrected him, the server stated that my friend was pronouncing the word in the "Indian" way. The servers behavior was absolutely DISGUSTING, RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! He was racially profiling my friend and was being discriminatory towards us because we were Indian.
This place is completely RACIST, DEROGATORY AND UNPROFESSIONAL! The workers have an attitude problem and need to be trained on how to provide good customer service. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN!! There are better Korean restaurants nearby that know how to treat their customers with respect. WILL NOT BE COMING...
Read more2.5 stars would be more appropriate. The experience didn’t start off well. Had difficulties finding parking. Street parking and parking lot were full. Had to park at a garage further away. I called to let them know that we would be late for our reservation and that we just parked. Told them 5 mins because we honestly thought we were a few mins walking distance. The man that answered said he would hold our table. Had he said no they couldn’t hold I would have been fine and would have went somewhere else. It took us a bit longer as street level was confusing to find from inside the garage. Anyhow, we arrived and were told that they had to release our table. Honestly, why the heck would I call to ask them to hold our table if I didn’t intend to show up. Some discussions took place amongst the staff until they decided to separate a reserved table (for 4) so that we could be seated.
A cute place but small. The photos on Google maps were deceiving. The photos made the place to look much bigger. It was really loud in there. We had to talk pretty loud to hear each other. It’s more of a sports bar-like atmosphere and vibe; noisy and bustling.
The food is mediocre and nothing special. We had deep fried eggplant, seafood pancake and pork belly with rice cake. The thick sauce for the fried eggplant was blah. The pork belly was really dry and tough. The seafood pancake and rice cake were enjoyable.
Service was unmemorable. When they seated us, they should have told us to access the menu by scanning the QR code on the table. We have never been there so we were expecting menus. After several minutes, I noticed the QR code and scan it. I suggest to the owner(s) to consider having a quick introductory interaction with customers when being seated to point out the menu QR code.
Not sure if I would return as I wasn’t impressed, and there were plenty of other Korean restaurants in that...
