Had to write a review because this "hole in the wall" fish n chips restaurant/bar was such a surprise and delight experience that it deserves respect and recognition.

From the outside, and from the inside, you would not expect to receive the freshest tastiest, home-cooked style fish n chips that you could ever dream of.

Carmen is the proprietor of the business and runs the front of house and bar - she is very hospitable and fiercely proud of the food she makes from scratch.

The fish was fresh, the tartar sauce fresh, the chips (fries) were perfect (and you can tell the deep fryer oil is changed regularly). What an absolute delight.

We ordered take out, and because it was our first time ordering we had to physically go into the restaurant to place the order - but now that Carmen knows our name we are allowed / promoted to phone in orders!

Great food, it's only the questionable cleanliness and dodgy atmosphere of the restaurant that docked a few points off this review, but overall four solid gold stars.

My wife and I stopped there with her parents in July of 2022. We were taking them on a two week tour of Canada and New York to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. An un-planned stop there turned into one of the highlights of our trip. To celebrate their anniversary Carmen not only gave us all several rounds of free tequila shots, not only gave them to bottle of wine, she made a call and had cups delivered so my in-laws had something to drink the wine in later. Just wonderful. Everyone there was really friendly and she knows each and every customer by name and drink. Anyone that complains about this place needs to relax and learn to enjoy life. The place advertises itself to be open till 2am. Went there at 6:10 pm for fish n chips and the kitchen was closed. Whats the point of advertising as a fish n chips place u dont get served.

The lady at the counter said if there arent many customers, they close the kitchen early. She also said there is no fixed time as to how early the kitchen closes.

If you're hungry, avoid this place so you wont be disappointed.
