3.5 STARS
I came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch a couple of weeks after the opening.
At first when you walk in here, you'll see seating for about 6 people and some cool artwork on the walls. Even their menu is drawn on the wall behind the cashier. The owner was friendly and welcoming and answered all our questions before we ordered.
We ordered :
The Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich with Pepper Sauce this was pretty good, I got the regular bun. Not realizing it was a kind of heavier egg based bun. It was a fried chicken breast tossed in their signature Pepper Sauce with a cool and creamy coleslaw. I really liked the combination bid the flavours and textures of this burger, but I feel since there were so many sauces going on, that the bun couldn't handle it and really got soggy by the end.
Buttermilk Chicken Strips ( not currently on the menu ) these were just okkk, I can kind of see why they've taken them off the menu. They weren't exactly strips, but more like boneless chicken wings . The breading on them was also pretty thin and lacked any "crispness".
The Veggie Burger with cream cheese and spinach my sister who is vegetarian ordered this and I had the chance to try it. It was honestly really tasty! It is a black bean based patty that has a great flavour and isn't too moist. The patty also pairs really well with the spinach and cream cheese. But I felt it was also missing some sort of sauce. They had the option to add ketchup, mustard or relish, but none of these seemed to pair well with this burger so we actually poured some Pepper sauce on top of the burger and it did the trick. I think this burger would taste amazing if they had a garlic mayo or even the pepper sauce with it to really elevate it.
Their signature Pepper Sauce is really good. It's kind of a mix of Peri Peri & Buffalo sauces. I would definitely reccomended trying it.
all the items came with a can of pop and fries. Pretty good value for what you get.
Overall it was a pretty great first experience, if you're planning on going here, I would reccomend coming here for a quick...
Read moreAfter all the hype that was created with Confused Kitchen’s food, I am heartbroken to say that it was such a disappointment !! Unfortunately the food portrays the name of the restaurant completely. They are definitely confused and let me tell you how it shows they are:
Here’s what I ordered:
Butter Chicken Roll - Flavour wasn’t bad but what in the world are boiled potatoes doing in it? It had more potatoes, less chicken and was very dry. CK Butter Chicken Bun - Burnt bun top with a dry butter chicken mixture in it. It did not taste at all like butter chicken. It had no gravy and sooo much garam masala!! The colour was very dark as if burnt or perhaps it was dark due to the enormous amount of garam masala in it. I’m confused how the butter chicken in the roll and bun be so different than each other! How is it not the same? Cheese burger roll - very little sign of cheese and no flavour. Not even enough salt. Mac n Cheese with Cajun Chicken - This was not as dry as the others but certainly left a slightly weird after taste. I would give it a 50/50. Mac n Cheese roll - I am a big fan of Mac n Cheese and this one is just not it. It needs more cheese!!! Honestly Outtakes Restaurant and Wimpy’s Diner (specific locations) does a way better job at Mac n Cheese bites than this one! Pepper sauce Large Crispy Chicken Burger - It came with Coleslaw and I’m glad they put in on the side in a small container so it doesn’t make the bun soggy. As Samson has mentioned in their review, If you love buffalo chicken then definitely get this one! I actually ordered it based on her review + I love buffalo chicken! I was happy with this burger! Red Velvet Cake Roll - I like how thin the layer of the roll was and a good amount of the cake itself inside. I would suggest for them to add more cream cheese frosting to it. Over all this was good.
They have increased the price from before and for what? Yes, you got it! For flavourless food! Save your money,...
Read moreDIAPPOINTED & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered two mutton kottu, one chicken kottu, two mutton rolls, and a mac & cheese with mutton, costing us $54. We asked for regular spice, but it tasted way too spicy, so we ended up just eating the chicken kottu. You can tell the difference in both kottu and portion. We all shared one kottu because the other kottus were not edible. When I called the place to let them know, the owner didn't take responsibility at all. He was like, "That's how it is." And when I mentioned I'm a regular, I know how the regular kottu tastes. He was like, "Okay, next time I'll make it mild." No apologies for the situation, just acting like I didn't give clear instructions. When i expressed my dissatisfaction on his lack of accountability .he then got defensive and said he didn't like my tone, even though I was totally calm. He started questioning if I even knew about cooking or working in the food industry, which was totally IRRELVANT and INAPPROPRIATE and SEXIST REMARKS. I did not buy $54 worth of lunch to starve. As a business owner, he should've handled it better. And I can't help but wonder if he'd have reacted the same way if it was a guy on the phone or non-tamil raised this sort of concern. Probably not. The scresshots shows how frequently I buy food from here, this my first time complaining and my last time buying food from here. It's disappointing what money and popularity does to these business owners, forgetting gratitude and basic manners. The unprofessional behavior, lack of accountability, and disappointing customer service have turned this into a deeply...
